USA USA USA

If that's what you think my point was you're free to interpret it that way, just know you're somewhere out in left field.
My thing is why do they have to say ANYTHING political. They are jocks - not known for intelligence but for the sport they play.

To say shit about the country that spent all the time and money training them is a kick. Ignorant kids is all i can say.

They are not funded by, nor chosen by, 'the country' in the USA. The National Governing Bodies are private non profit orgs. USOPC receives no tax dollars, most funding comes from a billionaire (Ross Steven's) grant of $100M

I think as general rule, if you are representing something much bigger then yourself, it’s best to keep personal thoughts that are contrary to a great image, silent.
I don't disagree with that.

But the criticism has been of him talking about hating America... Which seems like a stretch.

Hockey players are generally regarded as intelligent. With division 1 NCAA becoming increasingly THE path to the NHL, and a really high graduation rate, I think it would be false to say they're not known for intelligence.

Nah I'm going to strive for a more perfect union like a real patriot does. Improvement doesn't come from ignoring problems and worshipping a flag.
Striving for a more perfect union is not at all what you've done in this thread. You seem to just want to talk negatively about people's opinions. I'd ask how you think that makes the country better, but the conversation would be fruitless.

I will have to respectfully disagree. The dorm I lived in at the University of Wisconsin housed many of the scholarshipped athletes, including the hockey players. It was mandatory for them to live in the dorms the first 2 years. The hockey players were like wild animals and not the sharpest tools in the shed. (And BTW, we won the NCAA championship when I was a sophomore.)

Fair enough. I will say my son plays hockey and has played for a couple organizations. Usually the first thing anyone wants to know about a kid is grades and intelligence.

Definitely fruitless. If you can't understand how it was unnecessary and unconstructive to use USA hockey's victory to go after other American athletes the conversation is pointless.

Hockey player or engineer?

One of my employees is a hockey player and he can’t finish the shit he started. Even with a checklist.

It’s a diff level of intelligence. We all exceed at something. Some folks focus deeper than others. Some can adapt on the fly. That’s all.
