I think hockey is the only sport where a player can get his teeth knocked out, break a nose, or get stitches and keep playing.

Nationalism is not a bad thing when it unites a country and prevents civil war. I’ve seen two of those first hand and extensively studied our own history. I’ll take nationalism over internecine factionalism every time.

But seriously, how did they call Finland for high sticking at the end of the semifinal game against Canada. MacKinnon lifts the guys stick and get hit in the face by stick he lifted and then flops. Per IIHF rules accidental contact caused because an opponent lifted your stick is NOT a high sticking penalty. Not to mention the review for offsides when MacKinnon scores on following power play was marginal. But that's just how it goes in any sports, referees are going to miss a few and call a few the wrong way.

Let's be realistic here...a blind person could see that was too many men. It's not a call that's frequently missed, especially one that blatant (except at this Olympics apparently). Heck, I had already thrown my hands up in frustration that we botched the change that bad.

Stick lift "high sticks" are frequently miscalled because the refs see the reaction and a stick in the player's face, not necessarily what caused it. Difficult to call in real time, easy to call in hindsight with slow-mo replays.

But he definitely took a Bo Jackson line drive to the face and struck him out and pitched another 7 innings before he got stitches.

And put a guy half his age in a headlock and pummeled his face. Stayed in that game too. Lol

We have to disagree. If you dont love your country, you belong so ewhere else.

If someone plays for a country or a professional team, should be kicked to curb for badmouthing.

So if you'd been asked to join a national team for something you'd devoted your life to, but you didn't love everything in the country, you'd decline?

"I dunno man, it's hard because I don't love someone of the stuff going on." isn't exactly the harshest badmouthing I've ever seen. Shoot, I've said worse because a restaurant was disappointing.
