USA USA USA

Ya USA women’s team is good. I was surprised the gold medal game was as close as it was. I think you’ve beat us 8 straight games now on the women’s side.

You make it sound like a bad thing.

Bad thing is gloabalism, where we pay everyone’s tabs and get zilch for it.
Nationalism is always bad. We had plenty of gold winners to celebrate. First Winter Olympic thread was started so OP could spout off a nonsensical political opinion.

In 1977 I lost my lower front teeth playing in a hockey game in Sprague Manitoba

Spitting chiclets is exactly what it seems like

It’s not a political option to say you should be proud to represent your nation at the Olympics.

Nationalism is not a bad thing when it unites a country and prevents civil war. I’ve seen two of those first hand and extensively studied our own history. I’ll take nationalism over internecine factionalism every time.

But seriously, how do you miss a too many men call when the USA had 8 players on the ice and a guy off the bench playing the puck.
But seriously, how did they call Finland for high sticking at the end of the semifinal game against Canada. MacKinnon lifts the guys stick and get hit in the face by stick he lifted and then flops. Per IIHF rules accidental contact caused because an opponent lifted your stick is NOT a high sticking penalty. Not to mention the review for offsides when MacKinnon scores on following power play was marginal. But that's just how it goes in any sports, referees are going to miss a few and call a few the wrong way.

Let's be realistic here...a blind person could see that was too many men. It's not a call that's frequently missed, especially one that blatant (except at this Olympics apparently). Heck, I had already thrown my hands up in frustration that we botched it that bad.

Stick lift "high sticks" are frequently miscalled because the refs see the reaction and a stick in the player's face, not necessarily what caused it. Difficult to call in real time, easy to call in hindsight with slow-mo replays.

Only thing nonsensical is you and your attempt to try and make everything political with your hatred of the USA. If its so bad, go live in another country and don't let the door hit you in the rear.

The Hughes interview with missing teeth struck a deep chord in my heart as I lost my two front teeth on the ice in high school, although there wasn't as much at stake in my case and it was variation of the game played with a broom...

Didn’t he cause some teeth to go flying?
I'm not sure... Probably!

But he definitely took a Bo Jackson line drive to the face and struck him out and pitched another 7 innings before he got stitches.

And put a guy half his age in a headlock and pummeled his face. Stayed in that game too. Lol

Nolan was just built different.

We have to disagree. If you dont love your country, you belong so ewhere else.

If someone plays for a country or a professional team, should be kicked to curb for badmouthing.
