US Wildlife Services is seeking public comment on their wolf management efforts in Idaho

Here is a really good, well thought out comment from the other side.

"I have a better plan, STOP KILLING THE ANIMALS AND KILL THE HUMANS!!!! they are by Far the worst predator on the planet in any state and they don't kill simply for food , they kill for pleasure, for fun, for status , for trophies to hang on their walls. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH stop blaming animals for being animals, start making humans pay for their own stupidity. "Predators" only kill what they eat and need to survive, if your thinking of killing them for it what kind of Predator does that make you...the Evil kind that should know better."

With these kind of helpful comments, I am surprised they get anywhere.

Thanks for the heads up. Leaving a comment right now.

My response would be: can we start with you then?

The comments on the other side are laughable. A quick Google search of some of the names shows that they don't even live in Idaho. The fact that ANYONE that isn't a resident of Idaho even has an opinion on the matter is a joke at best. I left a comment but we as hunters need to do a better job of showing up in masses on things like this. Hunters and ranchers that side with us or this thing is going to get out of hand...more so than it already has.

That works both ways. Plenty of us aren't from ID but hunt there and are concerned with the issue.

Oh, and done!

Yes it does...but I feel this should be a state issue and should be resolved within the state of Idaho. Since it isn't, I am thankful for those who took time out of their day to support Idaho game and livestock.

Yeah I saw that one and rolled my eyes. They are the same people that build their McMansion summer homes on prime wildlife habitat and then blame hunters and the state for causing problems with wildlife.

Had my wife post this comment.

Comment: I feel the Government should do more in the way of management of the wolf situation. The population has far exceeded what was proposed. The ungulates are suffering. Between the loss of habitat and migration corridors. Now tack on an apex predator such as the wolf and the ungulates will suffer. The predators are reproducing at an unsustainable rate. The idea to release wolves to help control the elk and deer might have sounded good in theory but that is not what has happened. The ranchers and farmers are being hit with a double whammy. On one hand there are the livestock losses which include direct predation on the sheep and cattle. Then there is the second hit when the elk and deer move into the crop land and haystacks because the wolves have pushed them there out of desperation. I suggest we didn't need the wolves in the first place to control anything. The sportsmen and women are suffering due to low numbers of game and pressure from the wolves. The sportsmen and women are the conservationists that created game laws and have paid to protect the wildlife that we now have. Without their efforts, there would be no game or wildlife management. These people who push the wolf cause have not paid for licenses to fund the Fish And Game agencies. They don't buy merchandise that has the Pittman Roberts taxes that fund these agencies. It's ridiculous to give them much influence in this matter, especially when their arguments are not based on any scientific evidence. Thank you for your time.

Pretty obvious who knows the NEPA process and how to effectively comment and who doesn't by reading the replies.

A vast majority, both pro and con, are not going to be effective in influencing the DEIS and/or the alternatives.

I'd recommend many get their chit in a pile before they comment on the DEIS. I also predict a vast majority wont even comment on the alternatives when the DEIS comment period opens.

Good to see people at least taking the first steps though, as ineffective as they may be.

Thanks again for a passive aggressive lecture

Never disappoint😂😂😂

Well, learn us up big money!

Done. I'm in for the lecture on how to make a comment.

Educate us, Buzz. Seriously.
