My only can atm is the infamous banish 30. I’ve ran it in both 7 inch and 9 inch mode and so I’ve been able to compare the difference and it’s substantial. It’s currently stuck in 9 inch mode much to my chagrin. On my 24 inch barreled rifle it’s crazy long. But also shooting subs I have enjoyed the ability to clean. So it has its place.Other than a 19-20” 300win most of my chamberings are smaller and more alike than different. As far as weight and length most of my cans are more alike than different too. The only one I’ve used that I could certainly tell a difference was a friends Hyperion. I don’t have any equipment but on the 300 I could tell a difference in sound and recoil both. On my 260 ctr I could tell a difference but not as much. On 223AI I think I could tell a difference but again not near as much. Nothing scientific or even accurate about my findings but leads me to believe size matters. In both cartridge size and suppressor volume. I said all that nonsense to say maybe one of the future models might be larger/more volume but possibly not add as much length as the Hyperion does. Maybe with OTB it would also balance a bit better for its size? Just kinda thinking out loud while setting at work waiting on a call….lol.
I like what they’ve done with the OG and the OGL. Subtract the L and add in the replaceable caps for a brake and I’ll be in at some point soon. I don’t have a quiver of cans so I’m going with the AB raptor 8 first, if it ever arrives. Seems to be the very best do it all can. Capable of being super light. Not super long. very good suppression with the ability for adding even better suppression.
The OG w/caps will certainly have a use for me. The suppression for length is extremely impressive and what some people seem to be missing. I just don’t have a can already that fits the super light and really quiet bill yet. My single shot contender has me really enjoying shorter handier guns and seeing their merits even in open country. Setting it up on a shooting position without a long lever arm adding torque is so much quicker and easier. The balance point makes up more of the gun.
