Unknown suppressors OG testing

Somebody needs to file a hurt feelings report. Just curious what the new OG can does for "hunting" that the AB8 doesn't do, besides the measly 2" length difference.
For me I want to try reflex can. When I had fun money I bought a polonium and Noah ti with it. Then next day raptor 8’s show up in stock. Fun money has been saved up a little but no raptors but the OG is available. I’m sure I’ll try a raptor too when the timing is right. Like I mentioned above if the OG does as well what I currently have but 2” shorter then win/win.

It’s been stated multiple times. The only real “measurables” are length, size, weight, dB, how it sounds. All of those save the last are in this thread.

I can see the measurables for the OG on the website. I can see from this thread that, according to one guy I don’t know (nothing against him), the OG appears to match those measurables pretty well. But what I can’t see is a direct, head-to-head comparison, by a “trusted person” - i.e., Formidilosus - showing me why I should get this expensive item versus the AB Raptor 8 or one of the hundreds of other competing products.

I also haven’t seen the results of the failure test promised on the podcast (maybe I just missed it?). That’s the kind of information I would like before I try to get an OG.

You can’t please everyone. Funny thing is it’s been said here and podcasts this can isn’t meant to be quietest or please everyone. Yet people are still complaining about it.?

It is true that you can’t please everyone. But I am not complaining about the OG.

I am complaining about the fact that despite listening to the podcasts and looking on the US website, I don’t have enough information to help me make a good decision. This is supposed to be forum for discussing hunting gear.

And maybe Form is irritated because he’s explained all this a hundred times. But I’ve been working overtime the last three weeks, not death scrolling Rokslide and the rest of the internet. I’m not a dentist or a trust fund baby. I have saved up to get another suppressor, but I am wracked with indecision by the Scythe Ti fiasco.

On the podcast, US promised that the end user would not be beta testing the OG. I’m just asking them to show their work and convince me why I should spend my hard earned money on the OG instead of something else.

Someone was very clear that the Scythe was not a good can the same month it came out- no one wanted to listen. Ironically, it has turned out to be a POS.

All the information is posted. Not one company has ever tested and shared more with consumers about that testing than US has done so far.

Personally I’m not going to answer the same questions over and over and over because people can’t be bothered to read the information.

I’ve not had the pleasure of using the raptor 8 yet but with your concerns I’d get it for sure. It has too good of a reputation to ignore.

If the functional design aspects and feedback from the podcast and tester thread isn't enough info for you to make a decision, you probably should look at something else like an AB with a reflex.

They explained on the podcast they shot 100 rounds out of a 20" 300 RUM as fast as possible for a torture test. Ryan and Jake have said it multiple times that you can physically hear the difference in the sound of the can vs other Ti cans. Others have posted dB readings, and detailed comparisons with similar observations. I'm sure US has a pile on their plate right now offering members and subscribers an early dibs on current launch and will eventually get around to updating the website, but I feel like there's plenty of information about the can at this point to make a decision.

Sadly, I missed your report on the Scythe when it first came out. All I saw was a bunch of people who were super enthusiastic about it until they started blowing up.

I did what I should have done in the first place: I got off my phone, I went to my computer, and I used the search function to find what you previously wrote about the OG and the testing. Now I just have to make a decision.

I don't know of a single other can with anywhere near this much testing that's easily findable. Multiple acoustic tests even more reputable shooters perception where is not just a buy this sponsored fluff piece. Comparison's to multiple other suppressors. I can't imagine a more transparent way to do it than what's been done.

you know, I think I’m gonna call Ford and see if they can make a version of F150 that's rear wheel drive and hatchback like a car. Something kind of sporty. Maybe they could use like some kind of a galloping horse for an emblem. Then they'd really have something!!!!

I think UM should have just went about unveiling the OG like every other company, no transparency, no open testing and went with a good slogan.

“Introducing the OG, its like an AB raptor but doesnt look like that thing in the nightstand drawer on your wife’s side of the bed”

Purpose built can, that should be great for sporterish barrels. I get that $1200 is a lot of money, but I'm not sure what some people are wanting. If you do not want to be part of the initial rollout, wait and read the reviews after guys get them in the field. Tons of suppressors on the market, that have a proven past, with field data available.

The can isn’t for you, could have just said that. Are you looking for recommendations? Try an AB raptor in any number of configurations. Problem solved, move along.
Great idea! Probably why I already have one. No, not looking for recs, especially from you.

Or, " It's sort of like an AB Raptor 8 but louder". Another tidbit.....when you put the nice, lightweight suppressor sleeve on the Raptor the ribs go away. It's a miracle

Better yet, start out making an F150 competitor and wind up with a Dodge.
