Unknown Scope

Quite a few details in the thread posted.
My guess is that it isn’t going to be a fixed 6 and it will be over a grand I believe. I’d be comfortable with one knowing how it will be tested and what the expectations are.

Welcome to the forum. Good group of folks, my advice is to participate where you can with good information, or well thought out questions, and not come in heavy. It’s not like 24hr dumpster fire on here. lol.
I spent 10 years in law enforcement, all the ribbing is good natured (at least from me). These kinds of exchanges were literally how related with each other. I already feel at home ❤️.

I can tone it down for the more diplomatic folks but if I guy wants to throw barbs, I’m all about it!

@Kjc103 there is or was a SWFA 6x in the classifieds this week. You probably need some more posts before you can access, or pay the fee.

The fixed power talk in the scope thread seems to be directed towards an 8x, but it is a maybe based on the success of the variable power.

Simplified THLR reticle in the upcoming scope.

I'm not sure if they have confirmed dates on it.
The UM guys know what they’re doing, I’m sure I’ll snag up whatever they make.

A fixed 8 with THLR reticle sounds enticing!

It's capital.

Why do you bet that your described scope could retail for $500-$700?

There are many more dicks, wise ones sometimes roo. @svivian wears the spearfish championship belt, so, throw some respect on it with a big D when referring to him.
I honestly have no idea, it’s just a guess. The SWFA is 350, so if it had better glass, I would think that would about double the price.

The fixed 10 from SWFA with ED glass goes for $700 I believe.

I will definitely capitalize the “D” in dick, as a sign of respect. Good call.

Yeah, I’m still getting the 300 second wait time between replies. I’m sure I have to rack up a few as well as make some of my own posts before the system will let me in the classifieds.

That would be THE scope but it won’t sell as well because folks think they need a variable power scope to kill anything 😩
They talked about doing a fixed 7 power with a 50 or 56 mm objective lens next if the 3x14 goes well. Time will tell.

Thanks. That 8x56 would be great, especially on the edges of dark timber here, but I'd need a bit more elevation travel.

How far are you shooting?

I shoot all my hunting rifles to 800-1000+, except for a few exceptions.

For targets - as far as conditions allow.

Hunting - I'd prefer 400 and less but you leave a lot on the table if you can't stretch it.

I do like hunting the coastal jungle and dark timber, where shots are close, but the closest hillside might be 600-900 yards in more exposed areas. It can be pretty dang rugged - high angle, plus unusual wind!

Some of the locals have big boomers to hunt the coast - rifle bull season is a zoo though. It seems that every landing has several groups of people, with LR setups - big optics and heavy rifles.

This isn't the best pic, but sort of shows the terrain - ridges and deep draws in many places.

Its a Shoot2Hunt scope and will say Shoot2hunt on it.

is it a shoot2hunt model by ______ brand or its own S2H brand by itself? pretty cool if you're pulling that off but curious how product support, parts, warranty etc will work out if it's solely a S2H scope.

Good question - many will want to know before purchase.

I basically asked the same in the big thread - who is assuming the risk of warranty claims? The manufacturer or the seller?

Didn't see a response, but it was still early. Maybe confidential by contract.

I'm really looking forward to this new scope. And product claims with warranty details, when the time is right. May have to wait until product release though.

Imagine all the ducks that need to be in a row, to handle all this without losing your shirt!
