Unknown OG 6.5 & Airlock Zero Gravity 6.5

Dang that’s a hard one to answer. Speaking only to a 6CM…
Purely to knock off any decibel I can? OG65. If my barrel was 19” or more? I’d lean OG-S. If the barrel was 18” or less I’d lean OG65. They’re really close.

As far as weight…personally they’re too close to call, I can’t really feel either one of them on the gun.

I’d likely make the decision based more on my rifle collection than the two cans. If I shot a ton of 223 and also owned a 6mm rifle, I’d go OG-S. If I owned 6.5mm rifles and 6mm, then OG65.

After today though, I’m glad I picked up the OG-S. That 6ARC barrel is 18.5” and at that powder charge weight I’d definitely rather save the inch.

FWIW…

The OG6-s meters less than the OG65 on 6mm and below. It also sounds better to most people on 6mm and below when two identical rifles are being shot side by side.

For context I’ve only shot 20 rounds actually listening to the two and more than half were apples to oranges (6ARC vs 6CM). Only four each the one time head to head….now I want do it meaningfully haha. That one time the OG-S did have a slightly louder bark, but if that observation is outside the norm then my first thought is “small sample size”.

Could be the OG-S had way less rounds on it, could be where I was standing, didn’t have multiple opinions from different people…or I could be right & meter be damned. Dunno. Gonna dive in like with the 6.5mm cans, will post up in a few weeks.

Would you recommend the OG6-s over the OG65 for both a 6mm cm and a .223? Both T3x with 16” barrels.

Would you recommend the OG6-s over the OG65 and OG30 for both a 6mm cm and a .223? Both are T3x with 16” barrels. I already have a TI XC I use on other rifles so I’m not concerned with getting a can I can use on every gun. I plan on leaving whatever I choose on these 2 rifles. I’m more concerned with tone and overall balance and feel and not so much decibel level. I have an OG6s on order and I’m not sure if I will use it on the 6mm or the .223 but trying to figure out what I want to put on the other one.

Yup, for your rifles get the OG-S.

Finally did a somewhat meaningful test with some buddies today, 26 shots with each a 243 and 6CM. We switched the suppressors between the two rifles, did blind testing where we stood back with our eyes closed & didn’t know which was being fired, stood 20yds back, 30yds off to the side…

The two are CLOSE, but all agreed the OG-S had a more hollow tone and was slightly quieter. All said they’d buy that one over the OG65 based on sound alone. For 6mm.
I was the one outlier in that I didn’t hear as big a difference as the four other dudes who were there. I could tell the S was a touch quieter and that the OG65 was more of a boom compared to the emptier tone of the OG-S. It’s slight, but it’s there and it moved the needle enough for four guys to pick it.

Previously I guess it was that seeing the fire come out the front (3D printed cans do this when new) plus me being the only listener and for just a few shots…probably not the best test. Now they both have well over 500 rounds on them. So instead of viewing it as “too small for larger powder charges”, I’d say buy the suppressor that best matches your bore(s) and roll with it (can’t speak to anything larger than 6CM though). They’re both great.
