something you should know if you go back that far is the trails can get pretty muddy. after a rain and freeze I have seen it literally knee deep. recently trails have bees dusty but they can change after a rain or snow.

I should add that I've found aluminum beer cans in the woods above 10K feet multiple times, and I'm like who in the world would drink a beer, up here, this far from any trail? It's truly a mystery to me.

Obviously...a Texan. 😁
I lived in Colorado a while, everything was either a Texan or Californian's fault. Montanans blame everything on California or Missoula (same difference). And....... I'm originally from Southern IL......it was always those damn Northerners from Chicago that screwed everything up.

I did hunt 751 one year before I lived in CO, but it's been a while. I'm not sure that I have any relevant info.

I lived in S. Illinois for 6 years. Neat place but you're right - the Northerners from Chicago were blamed for everything under the sun. LOL I guess that's human nature. It's funny to hear the Austin hipsters now blaming Californians for moving in and driving up the price of everything. I'm like if you didn't turn Austin into California, they wouldn't like it so much. :D

FWIW, the folks around Cloudcroft and Ruidoso NM also love to hate Texans. But they still take their money every chance they get. LOL

I can't wait until I'm a CO resident so I can blame Texans too.

I think you have to live there a year (at least 6 months) before you are given that privilege. I was in a ski resort community, so by five years I was almost a native. Montanans require multiple generations, so I'm still a foreigner at almost 8 years. The Southern IL/Western KY accent doesnt help.

where I have been they would trade the Californians for Texans in a flash.

in 77 from granite , in great weather, it is about a 4 hour hike out to the Williams creek area. that is down hill.
easy when dry. but that was when the foot bridge was still across the east fork.
