Trying to get a last minute OTC hunt together. No one local wants to go, so I will probably be going solo. I went several years ago outside pagosa springs, but we never got into any elk. Was looking at unit 53 or 54, this time. I don't have enough vacation time to make a scouting trip before hand, so I will be going in blindly. Looking at a 2nd season rifle hunt, camping at a trail head and hiking in, or possibly backpacking in. Anyone have any tips on where to put in at or where not to?
