UM Tikka rings... What am I missing?

I just bought um Tikka rings for my Tikka t3x stainless. The little pegs that they include do not fit into the holes on top of the action. The threaded ones do not screw in, the non threaded ones will maybe go in if I take a sledge hammer to them. What on earth?

The non threaded you should be able to tap in with a rubber mallet or the plastic handle of a screw driver.

The threaded ones will fit. I read some people used a tap but I cleaned with acetone and was able to get it started manually. If yours has heavy cerakote just chase the threads with a tap.

UM had me spin a 1/8 drill bit counter clockwise lightly by hand in the receiver hole to clean the top edge and it threaded right in.
