I had this same thing on a 243, mine was more bent than slight tho.Interesting, is that new? I don't remember seeing that previously.
When I pulled the UM rings off my 243 the thread in recoil pin was slightly bent. Still worked fine, so I didn't think that much of it. So, perhaps slipping is an issue, particularly with the thin threaded recoil pins.
Yeah, slight for me is I didn't notice right away, but was very obvious when I started removing the pin, more than 3 degrees, but less than 8 degrees would be my estimation.I had this same thing on a 243, mine was more bent than slight tho.
Why is this? Can they not handle the recoil?
Is it better to use a pic rail and different rings?
Anyone with personal experience using UM Tikka rings on a 300 Win Mag or 300 PRC?
Intriguing -- must be some serious force involved. When I pulled the UM rings off my 243 the thread in recoil pin was slightly bent. Still worked fine, so I didn't think that much of it. So, perhaps slipping is an issue, particularly with the thin threaded recoil pins.

Happens to me all the time! hahaHa! My wife would be proud! Frequently don’t see what’s right in front of me. “You can’t shut a damn door but can spot an elk on some random hillside”
Thanks for getting me squared away.

Maybe the recoil pins should be steel instead of aluminum...
If they are aluminum that is a mistake. They should be loaded almost entirely in shear so bending is less, but sounds like others are observing bending on non-magnum setups.
