The short handle is shorter than factory. This means you are less likely push the bolt knob out of battery, which is a common issue with Tikkas. Shorter also does not mean slower to operate. The short handle and round knob is the best option for Tikkas, hands down. If you get one in hand and shoot it, you’ll understand.

Thank you for the reply. I bought a mtn gear titanium one for the bit of weight savings and to try and I don’t like it. Really sticks out far. I was worried the short one from UM wouldn’t seat down fully but sounds like it will and will work perfect for me.

The short handle is great for being out of the way, just realize that it takes a bit more with a shorter lever. The straight handles also keep the knob further forward away from the trigger. Both are good but the short handle is pretty awesome for hunting. Just don’t expect to be able to flip the handle with a finger
