UM/S2H/Suppressors/Scopes and More!

Oh yeah 100% it was from shipping and after some rounds down range, powdered titanium bits won’t be an issue. Heck I wouldn’t say they were an issue to begin with, just something to keep in mind. The threads are actually machined in, so loose powder is the only plausible reason. Brush made short work of it, threads on like butter now.

@Unknown Suppressors thank you for the explination. This is exatly what I was looking for and satisfys my OCD. I did reach into the bore with a screw driver to see if anything would come loose easily. Nothing did.

I shot it today on the 6 PRC and was impressed. For 4 inches in front of the barrel it was comparible to my Banish 30 Gold. The gold was on a 6.5 PRC and was quieter to my ear. Did a little video cut up for comparision, it's damn hard to tell them apart there. I'll need to video something from further away to see if there is a difference there. Both 22" barrels.
Love that orange gun! Speaking of OCD, the way you run that bolt action rifle is like nails on a chalkboard for me 😆

Also. You mind sharing details on that camper shell on the Gladiator?

Gotta love an Approval email from the ATF to make Monday morning a little better. SS Individual, submitted around 4pm Wednesday 6/18, so 3-ish business days?

Got a scouting trip this weekend so I won't be able to shoot it a bunch. Might have to take it and pull over somewhere along the way to shoot a few though.

Doing a big "range day" with some buddies on 7/5. I'll see if we can play musical cans and get comparisons to the Nomad Ti, AB A-10 7.62, Scythe, Harvester EVO, and maybe a few others. Wonder if a microphone attachment on a GoPro would help with audio quality...

It only came up very briefly with Tim Betts on the Shoot2Hunt podcast #125, but any update on the open sites project? It seemed like Form mentioned it may be out this summer, but the podcast made it sound like it would be late this year, likely after the Raven action was released. Trying to see if it will be an option for a hunt in October.

I know a scope is in the works, any thoughts on developing your own RF binos? If not, any insight into when Maven might release their RF binos?

OG is in hand. Definitely a fan of the bead blast with a stainless Tikka barrel. Rifles are essentially identical, comparing OAL's:

OG: 42 1/4"
AB A-10 7.62: 43 3/4"
Nomad Ti: 44"

36 3/4" OAL on the UL UL, 28 1/2" with the stock folded haha. Excited to get some rounds through it.

Only one problem...missing my golden ticket for the S2H course. @Unknown Suppressors y'all can send that separate, no biggie. 😂

New to suppressors, need to be schooled on cleaning them. I have the OG & I’m interested in the Gnat.

They’re titanium, sealed, OTB suppressors. I’ll probably clean the OG every 2k rounds, but everywhere I look the consensus is that 22LR suppressors need to be frequently cleaned. I’m planning on just filling it halfway with CLR, plugging the ends, shaking the snot out of it. Maybe rinse & repeat, let it sit 15min, or something of that sort.

Am I on the right track, should I get a sonic cleaner, should I avoid CLR with titanium? I know UM offers a cleaning service but I’m the type who wouldn’t utilize that, I prefer DIY to boxing/shipping something.

No idea how to clean a suppressor (especially a sealed 22LR) so any advice is appreciated!

i don't clean mine. My 22 can i'll put on my 5.7 and shoot the shit out of it. its pretty clean after that lol

I don’t see the rationale for UM to sell 22LR cans. Plenty of adequate rimfire cans already out there for trainer rifles.

I would think that the demand for the OG would drive maximum production of those instead of eating up build time for toy cans. I’m waiting on the sidelines for QC to prove out but if the wait time just grows for hunting cans to make room for toys I’m less likely to ever pull the trigger.

That said, I’m no business genius, and probably an outlier.

I don’t know how their operation goes. But since it’s a 3D printer they can make the schedule for it based on what sales they have. You know basically print what orderes you receive. All types of designs can be printed in the same batch. It’s easy to have many many SKUs with a 3D printer. And if you have open available machine time then you print SKUs, per batch, to have in stock based on percentage of overall sales for that SKU.

Also I jumped in with both feet and am patiently waiting for mine to ship to my SOT

I get that, but my assumption is that the estimated wait for an OG is probably like 6 months? Does anyone know? Maybe I overestimated the popularity and they do have cycles to pump out fun stuff.

No, OGs are in stock and ready to ship.
