UM/S2H/Suppressors/Scopes and More!

A variation of this has been asked before, but I’m seriously considering an OG-L pending the final details… wondering if it could be ordered with a bore designed for .375 caliber?
…would go toe to toe with the Raptor 375 except seemingly stronger, which would be great. I’d love to zap one on my 375 ruger and have the barrel cut to 18”, whilst knowing the cans not going to blow up. Being able to thread the brake on the end makes it that much more appealing for 375 too! Then if that’s not ideal for someone, they can have a 6.5mm or 30 cal end cap.

I support this request simply because I want one for my straightwall deer rifles. 356. And 358. In diameter.

Hey @Ryan Avery have you and Robby thought about forming a Rosklide Anonymous group and a halfway house for all the dudes that go broke and get kicked out from buying all the chit you and your collaboratives come up with!?

I may need those resources soon. I recently snuck the OG in, but the Teratorn, Predator, and future Raven might be the tipping point, please HELP! 😆
Ok. I know the OG, Teratorn, and the Raven. Not that I need it, but what is the predator?

Yep I see that, but the OG-L and OG Magnum are to be 30 caliber cans. The Big Stick ‘may’ be made in 375 (I’ve already chirped in here asking for that ‘may’ to switch to a ‘will’ haha) but it’s full in front of the barrel and further down the road production wise.

I’m interested in a 375 OTB can and the OG doesn’t have enough volume to handle 375 big boomers, hoping the increase in diameter and the changeable end caps/brake makes the OG-L a happy candidate for the caliber for a hunting specific can, just enough to get under 140db but short and handy.

Then just get the raptor 8 with 5” reflex in 375.

It will do fine with any length barrel.
I’ll be sure to let AB know that you said so ;-)

I hope that’s true though. I asked them a while back and they gave a very not inspiring answer to the tune of ‘we really wouldn’t recommend it’. What’s the darn point of them putting out the ratings? Must be like sleeping bags and tents, just inverse. Reduce potential warranty claims?

I see the punishment the OG went through and the additive/uniform style of manufacture gives me more confidence that my 19” 375 Ruger burning 80gr. of powder won’t “Scythe” off half a can into the bush someday.

I guess I was asking about handling balance and tone and which they liked better vs the ultra 7 thanks though.

FWIW…

I believe there have been 11 people that have done blind “tests” between the UL7 Gen 2 and the OG on two identical rifles- all have blindly picked the OG as sounding “better”.

Sounding/tone VS shooters ear metering, thats what matters to us........how do they sound compared down range? Is the animal going to hear or distinguish any difference in tone or poppiness? I'm not picking a side or throwing mud at any supressor, but does what we prefer a can to sound like, have any discernable difference of what it sounds like 400+ yards downrange? And if it does sound "different", does it matter in the terms of animals reaction? You guys that have been shooting raptors with reflex, and non reflex cans, do you see any difference on animal reaction?

That's the greatness of a supressor, animals get confused, not really panicked, plus they really cannot differentiate where the sound actually came from. They just know they heard something.

We don't have it on the roadmap but, we are also working on a "dangerous game" can, big bore, similar to OG size, optimized for larger cartridges....

Hell yeah!
I shot a 300 win mag through a A-TEC Optima 50 and holy schmoly was it effective. Sound, recoil, tone, everything was very impressive. IIRC it’s a 2” dia., 6” in front, 3” reflex with some fancy interchangeable guts. Blew everything else I’ve used out of the water in terms of ‘suppressing’ just a little heavy but it sounded so good I didn’t mind, funny enough.

I was able to shoot a prototype suppressor this weekend in Clovis, New Mexico. It was a lot of fun, and by far my best match finish to date. The Shoot 2 Hunt guys / US are still trying to figure out a name. After over 200 rounds with this can in all kinds of weird shooting positions, I figured I would post my thoughts.

The ability to spot shots with this can is phenomenal. The recoil is comparable to a muzzle brake. The short length and integrated (printed in) muzzle brake allows the gas to travel at faster speeds thru the brake portion and cuts recoil insanely well. I love shooting with brakes, but the concussion gets to me after 100 rounds in a day. This can has zero concussion. Even in shooting positions where I had large boulders just to the side of the can I still has zero concussion.

The recoil impulse is hard to describe. Its a perfect blend of the sharp snap of a muzzle brake, and the soft elongated push of a suppressor. I call it a "soft snap". The match had a lot of awkward positions where I used the triple pull bipod on uneven boulders, and a bag on the top of the rocks for rear support. I was still solid enough in all my positions (besides when my bipod would slide off a rock) to see all my shots from 240 yards to 900 yards.

The caveat of this can is that its not hearing safe. Its not meant to be. The reason this can is so comfortable to shoot is because the brake portion functions so well. In order for it to do this, the gas has to be expelled at a higher rate. As you extended this can length and made it quieter it will transition to more of a push like other suppressors.

Currently it is 11.8 oz, and 5.125" OAL. We will be making the muzzle adaptor out of Ti, and this should drop the weight closer to 10 oz.

We had some national champion PRS / NRL hunter people shoot it and they were thoroughly impressed with the unique recoil impulse.

I'm personally very excited to use this can for all my future shooting competitions, as well as hunting. I think the can would be a great fit for my hunting style.

If anyone's got a clever name for it, lets hear it...

Ken
