No problems as the new cases soak up the pain. They just super AI'd the 223, 300 blk, 380 auto, 9mm, and some others. Or federal's new 7mm is at least one more.

This should also mostly solve our difficult extraction issues as these cases spring back way more than brass. Now, we just need them to make those other cases some of you have been wanting to run in this platform.

And at least some of the pistol cartridges have die sets for reloading like a brass case

The cases also have 10% more capacity in the 5.56 NAS3 cases anyhow (Which are fine for 223 chambers for those that haven't researched this).

Personally, I want a 10 or 12” for my SBR lower. 5/8 x 24 makes a lot of sense.

How does everybody else feel about muzzle thread size and twist on the 6x45? Hopefully what Kyle mentioned above works for everyone? I know the 5/8" is very common, and what most suppressors come equipped with (adapter). I will say, if you want to lose a little weight at the end of the barrel, with the si-co cans anyhow, you'll have more titanium and less steel if you go 1/2" muzzle threads, and their 1/2" titanium adapter (about $100). Verify your can has that option before making any decisions based on this though.

I'm fine with 1/2x28 on 223 and 6mm, but I've not run suppressors, so there is that.

Either thread pattern works for me. Folks need to know that 1/2x28 isn’t “standard” for anything over 5.56, so they need to check whatever device they put on the front. Did we ever get the barrel material/finish mentioned? 1/8 twist is where I want to be.

I'd prefer stainless, 1:8 or faster and threaded 5/8, (but 1/2 is fine).

If we are getting picky a longer throat to load 88 eldms would be even cooler

I doubt you'll need a longer throat than what you can squeeze into even a heavily modified magazine and upper. I can get 2.41" in my ULUL and the standard BCA throat fits 88s fine.

PistolPete any thoughts on those NAS3 cases and 88 eldms? Seems like the gap between 223 and 22arc would narrow a bit with a high pressure 88eldm while also functioning in these straight pulls

Best case 2.4ish, but can get to 2700+fps easily with that in a 16” barrel. I was pushing 2800 with 2.39” and lever

I doubt you'll need a longer throat than what you can squeeze into even a heavily modified magazine and upper. I can get 2.41" in my ULUL and the standard BCA throat fits 88s fine.

This brings up an important point we should not forget to include in the orders. The BCA has the 5.56 chamber (longer throat), and I've measured it to be about .103" longer than the Shaw with the same bullet. Since we've got guys wanting to run 88s, I think we should seriously consider a longer throat than the Wylde.
My question is, when a gunsmith sets up a custom barrel for heavies, does he only make the throat longer?
Thinking more about this, we definitely don't want a tight chamber on these potentially difficult to extract strait pulls. The new NAS3 cases might not stick in a tight (match) chamber, but I think we all want to be able to run brass cases for practice at least some of the time.
A standard 5.56 chamber will give us a little less likelihood of difficult extraction if I'm not mistaken.... so, maybe just copy the BCA chamber?

The extra 10% case capacity (and 80k pressure) of the NAS3s will really help with the heavies. I'll be running 79gr DRTs if they ever get back in stock.

If this is the tip of the iceberg for demand, I am thinking about maybe stocking a few extra barrels.

Same topic on 6x45. Whatever reamer Satern uses is great - I jam at 2.45”+ with 95tmk’s.
