Ultralight Ultralight Rifles

Any of you have a recommendation for a carbon fiber guard with a small arca adaptor? Factory or DIY? (Clearly wanting to keep the weight down but willing to accept the penalty.)

I have gotten spoiled to shooting off a tripod!
DIY all the way. Cut a piece off of an aluminum arca rail, then make a spacer (3D Printer works great) then rough up the surface of both pieces and the carbon tube, then JB weld it together with original cold weld formula. Mine has held together for at least 300 rounds and is still going strong. Or you could 3D Print the whole arca piece (I've made a ring that goes around the carbon tube with the arca piece built it, and it worked well).

Anyone done these on a 6arc yet?

Yep! Using a bear creek side charge (pre their bolt side charge) and their $60 barrel that is 30 oz. Shoots very well, no issues getting under moa with 5-10 round groups. I’ve shot it at a long range shooting school. Shot right with some very expensive rifle setups. Somewhere around 350 rounds on mine

I get bored this winter I think I'm gonna put one together.

My 223 LW gasser build did me well this year, taking 8 whitetails so far ( best season of my life! ). Now the build paths are diverging.

Got my solo300 upper in and assembled on the 16" 223 build with swfa 2.5-10. *edit* 6lbs 0.7oz scoped, suppressed, with full 10rnd mag.

A box of 6 arc parts delivered today, barrel is coming in tomorrow, and lower is at ffl for pickup. This will be a LW gasser pistol build with a 3x microprism.

Will experiment with both - have a couple more doe tags and maybe can get on some hogs.

This is too much fun.

What barrel are you using on your solo?

I've been shooting a lot of 5.56/223, and have an LS Wild pack pillow and rear bag en route. I'll be interested to see if the ULUL is any harder to shoot off field positions than my bolt gun

Mine balances pretty well and I don’t find it any more difficult in field positions.
Prone or on the bench it is harder due to the light weight
I'm thinking as-is the Timney trigger in my bolt gun will matter. I'm gonna pull the CMC from my ULUL and put in a Geissele that I have sitting on the shelf
