Ultralight Ultralight Rifles

22 ARC ULUL is shaping up. Have a 10x SWFA on it for now. If this load repeats and confirms at distance I’ll put the PA 5X Microprism I just picked up from Optics Planet.

75 ELDM, going over 2800 hoping for 2850. Chrono was fighting me with some grass blowing in the wind so no readings on these 5 shots. I know I’m over 2800.
If this repeats I have terminal velocity to 650 yards.

I have been running the 22ARC for 1 years now and I am truly impressed. I have only run the 88gr eldm through it and took a nice spike at 305 yards. It performed perfectly! I am going to test the 80gr eldx on some hogs after thanks giving. Once I build an ul ul, I might need (2)! One in 223 wilde and 1 in 22 ARC. Most of my hunting is under 200 yards so the 223 is more than adequate... but I sure do like the 22 ARC!

Nice

I'm averaging 1.5" for 10 shots out of my .300 Ham'r. 16" Wilson combat barrel, 130gr Speer Hot Cor, 2.5-10 SWFA UL.

I did, however, just switch out the scope for an SLX 5x microprism. That's dropped me down to 4lb exactly with 5 in the mag. Haven't had chance to shoot it yet.
Really interested in that round. What made you go with it?

really interested in this round as I am a big 30 cal fan. What made you go this route? Thanks

Well, I already have a fantastic shooting .223 & the places I hunt where an ULUL would be incredibly handy have a .243 restriction for big game & at the time 6x45 super light barrels were almost unattainable.
I got talking to @Thegman & it sounded a lot like the Ham'r would be great for Wyoming elk while also being the perfect woods cartridge for hunting the hills around here. Lots of good bullet choices, up to 150gr, easy to load for with plenty of data to work from & since I don't suppress it made more sense to me than a Blk.

If any of you gram weenies want the polymer trigger from a New Frontier LPK, let me know. I'll never use it, I'm flush with nice triggers and am a snob.

The hammer on those polymer FCG’s does deform and get light strikes after a while. They just don’t seem to have the weight. Mine have all been replaced with other triggers. The rest of the lpk seems fine.

Not sure, but isn't that a metal one?
Turns out its metal. But WC Armory was great about communicating and cancelling my order - I'm going to have to try to do business there again.

Do you have the hammer too? Ill pay your shipping...

I never even tried it. I didn't do a polymer lower either. I don't need lighter than the 5# loaded ready to hunt with silencer, optic, sling and ammo I got going "budget."

If anyone is interested, I may be able to get the guy who loaded the 77TMK 223 (for the previously known "stand1" brand) to get a good discount if buying a larger bulk order... 5k-10k rounds. If I recall correctly, the stand one retail pricing was around $36 for a box of 20... plus shipping... pretty pricey, so in the past, I had only bought and used sparingly. But it was way faster and more accurate than anything I could load myself... so I kept some around specifically for hunting. (2750fps 77tmk in a 16 inch barrel).

I have no need for thousands of rounds... but 300-500 hundred more at a decent price would be appealing. So if anyone else wants to go in on it, send me a PM and let me know what you think would be a decent pricing if we could get it... I'm sure it won't be anything close to "plinking" ammo prices... but this would be premium ammo.
Fits in anything a normal 223 will? Might be interested for my tikka even before i put together an ul rig.

Same here, lately I'm using the rest of the Poly LPK, but switched two lowers to metal trigger groups. I've never had much deformation or light strikes with the poly triggers, and shooting with them was fine, but I have noticed more primer cratering on hotter loads with the poly hammer compared to metal hammers. If one is just shooting factory ammo and/or not pushing anything with handloading, probably won't ever see that.
