Well, I already have a fantastic shooting .223 & the places I hunt where an ULUL would be incredibly handy have a .243 restriction for big game & at the time 6x45 super light barrels were almost unattainable.
I got talking to @Thegman & it sounded a lot like the Ham'r would be great for Wyoming elk while also being the perfect woods cartridge for hunting the hills around here. Lots of good bullet choices, up to 150gr, easy to load for with plenty of data to work from & since I don't suppress it made more sense to me than a Blk.

The hammer on those polymer FCG’s does deform and get light strikes after a while. They just don’t seem to have the weight. Mine have all been replaced with other triggers. The rest of the lpk seems fine.

I never even tried it. I didn't do a polymer lower either. I don't need lighter than the 5# loaded ready to hunt with silencer, optic, sling and ammo I got going "budget."

If anyone is interested, I may be able to get the guy who loaded the 77TMK 223 (for the previously known "stand1" brand) to get a good discount if buying a larger bulk order... 5k-10k rounds. If I recall correctly, the stand one retail pricing was around $36 for a box of 20... plus shipping... pretty pricey, so in the past, I had only bought and used sparingly. But it was way faster and more accurate than anything I could load myself... so I kept some around specifically for hunting. (2750fps 77tmk in a 16 inch barrel).

I have no need for thousands of rounds... but 300-500 hundred more at a decent price would be appealing. So if anyone else wants to go in on it, send me a PM and let me know what you think would be a decent pricing if we could get it... I'm sure it won't be anything close to "plinking" ammo prices... but this would be premium ammo.

Fits in anything a normal 223 will? Might be interested for my tikka even before i put together an ul rig.

Same here, lately I'm using the rest of the Poly LPK, but switched two lowers to metal trigger groups. I've never had much deformation or light strikes with the poly triggers, and shooting with them was fine, but I have noticed more primer cratering on hotter loads with the poly hammer compared to metal hammers. If one is just shooting factory ammo and/or not pushing anything with handloading, probably won't ever see that.

Ya, I have a lot of rounds on mine. Definitely more cratering (maybe because less weight against back of firing pin?). And if you have any rounds with primers set deep you’ll get misfires.

Not sure I love the swfa ultralight on my 6x45. As said on here by others, it’s more like a 2.5-8 rather than 10 since sight picture and clarity/light aren’t great at full power. Reticle is meant to use on full power. I find I usually leave it on 5 and have the subtensions doubled and know my yardages. I wish I could find a lighter FFP but I think that’s wishing too much in a small light scope.

All this to say, what other good scope options out there? The 5x microprism on my 223 is pretty awesome, but I don’t think the BDC would line up quite as well for the 6x45 (some of you with the mil reticle might convince me otherwise)
Any dialing scopes out there people are liking? LPVO or fixed powers? Just curious what is working for people on the ULULs

What bullet and what velocity are you shooting in your 6x45? Curious to look at Strelock and see if there's a certain power on the 2.5x10 that lines up with it.

I have noticed that scope should line up pretty well with most cartridges with less velocity/BC than the 223 it was designed around, by using a lower power, which, with that scope, is a win-win. Even works okay with some of my 300BO loads on around 6x.

I had only had one misfire due to a light primer strike and that was on my last range day toward the beginning of hinting season. I figured I should probably replace the trigger group, but thought I could get to it later this winter or spring. On Friday I was heading out to fill some whitetail doe tags, so I decided to shoot a little. I cycled 15 rounds and only got 5 to fire due to light primer strikes.
After running to Sportsman's and replacing my trigger ro something with a metal hammers, it fires every time, and was able to tag 2 does woth 6x45.
Also to note, the plastic safety switch feels a little off, so I'll be switching that out for a metal one as well.

I called and talked with Primary Arms before I ordered my 5X Microprism. I was looking for reticle dimensions so I could decide MIL or MOA. They said the Chairgun Elite app had their reticle and many others. I bought it for $1.99 and chose to go MIL for a 22 ARC. I felt like the MOA reticle was a little too tight on the shorter yardages to be clear and usable.
I also found the app useful for a few Burris fullfield scopes with reticles

I’m one of those guys who has an iPhone tied to my work so I’ve never been able to get Strelock to work. Could you look at the 87gr v max going 2600 and 2640 and see how power lines up?

I might have to look at that app. The mil is appealing to me since I can put the bullet profile in my sig rangefinder and have a solution in mils about instantaneously. A bigger, more kid friendly optic would be nice for watching impacts though.

My favorite no-nonsense optic for this year is the Burris Fullfield 3-12 w/ Ballistic E3 reticle. It matches perfectly to the factory 108 and 105 6mm ARC out of my 16" gun (2500 and 2600fps, respectively) out to 400yds w/ a ~150yd zero. I would think the 6x45 would be similar with the 87gr at 2700-2800fps or the 105 at 2500-2600fps. It's obviously a little heavier than the SWFA or any of the 3x/5x Pprisms, but you get 12x of usable magnification and really clear glass. I don't know how they did it, but the 3-12 weighs as much as the 2-8 and 2.5-10 Fullfields if their online specs are correct. Their "Connect" app is also pretty easy to use once you get the hang of it. I wish Strelok was still an option; that was my absolute favorite tool to use.

I have a 2-7 Burris Fullfield II that weighs 12oz with ballistic plex reticle.
