Wait a second, so nudging the chamber back towards the bolt face is different in the AR due to the floating bolt? I'm new to this platform so please bare with me

The barrel extension IS the receiver, more or less. It’s just a separate component. The barrel threading into it is just like any other barrel threading into any other receiver.

Headspace is set to the extension.
