I'm sort of bummed I don't have a tent to use my stove in and no more budget to get one haha. It's an awesome design! Hopefully I'll acquire a tent before this winter

I'll message you if I start actively shoppingI may be selling my Dyneema Cimarron.
I’d also be interested in one for an 18” stove if you’ve end up finding something not horribly expensive and lightweight. If someone can get me dimensions of them when folded up. I think the pipe is the same
Name and shame the company. I won’t support them if I currently am.Just to update everyone that has been following along on this project. Thank you to anyone that bought one, the feedback has been great and it's been a fun project. This was originally never going to be the start to a business, it was a fun project for myself then I had a few guys reach out asking if they could buy one and I turned out making a handful and I soon discovered that there really was a hole in the market for this stove. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to start a business and that was never my intention so I reached out to a few businesses to see if they would be interested in taking the design and selling the stove for me. Me being naive to the business world trusted a few people too far and go burnt. There is a company out of Montana that is pretty well known that I reached out to. They used to manufacture all their products in the US and did their own sewing so it seemed like a good fit. They requested a sample stove and we started talking about how this would work. Negotiations fizzled out and I decided I was going to just sell them myself. However, 3 months later, I found my stove on their website. They essentially took my stove, shipped it to China, had it reverse engineered and are now selling them. I discovered since then that they have outsourced most of their products to China and are starting to sell them on Amazon and the like. Their argument is that I copied someone else's design so they can copy mine without repercussion. I don't have the time and the money for patent lawyers and the like so expensive lesson learned.
At this point, I don't know what is going to happen to the tariff situation. Possibly at some point I'll order more material if it the cost comes down. I have a few alternative designs in my head as I don't want to be selling an identical stove that someone else sells now so I'll have to redesign it. At some point, we might turn it into a small side business. Maybe if Rokslide approves, we can make it the official stove of Rokslide and they can sell it to fund the forum.
Business 101 guys, even the nicest guys will stab you in the back for money.
X2Name and shame the company. I won’t support them if I currently am.
I'm in agreement. Is what they did illegal? Not really. But taking advantage of a sole proprietor in such a small industry is just unethical.

I don't get it. There's a couple companies like that now that are clearly just rebranding stuff off of Alibaba. All of this stuff is coming out of the same factory in China with little tweaks so that each company can claim that "they've developed xyz".Poor morals on their part for sure. It seems the hunting community really loves all the brands that clearly just outsource to China or relabel products already produced there.
