Ultralight reel recommend ??

I've always used shimano 1000 size reels with 4 pound Sufix Siege mono or elite for my UL setups.

The problem with the 500 or 750 sizes as noted above is that they usually lack key features of the models that the 1000 size and up has.

Like most say, I’d get a stradic and call it a day. For braid: I have not had great experiences with 10lb power pro (4 strand). I like 10lb suffix a lot and use it on my 2500s. I’ve started to test diawa J brade 8 in 8lb and have good results as well. The 8 strand is easier to deal with I. The smaller sizes IMO. It might not be as abrasion resistant but it’s easier to knot and handle to me.

I bought me a Stradic 1000 after reading this thread. Going to take it to the mountains trout fishing in July

I'm a Stradic fan with multiple sizes but when I went looking for a 1000 size reels for back country missions I lucked into a Sustain 1000 for a great price.
Not much different but it is just that tiny bit smoother, lighter, and the drag is stronger.

I like the Berkeley Chrystal Fireline 15lb

P Line CXX 2# for me. I’m not a braid guy. The P Line is exactly tough and punches way above its weight.
