ULTIMATE - SHORT BARREL CARTRIDGE???

Hey,

Looking to build a short barreled long range gun. Wanting 2925 fps with 180 eldm but sub 20" barrel. Open to other options outside 7mm.

Options so far, 28 sherman mag, 28 nosler, 7-300prc.

Any ideas?

Is action a SA or LA in a sa go 7 saum if LA go 7prc or 280 AI as for velocities you get what you get with a 20" barrel dont sweat it. Im currently working on savage axis 2 SA rebarrel to 7 saum if there is a way to load 150s or 160s from the mag it will be 20-22" lt varmint??

7 nmi will do it. Not sure why everyone is all of a sudden recoil soft. My 22” 28 nosler is running the 180 Berger at 3050 not maxed out. Kick isn’t bad at all

It's not about being "recoil soft" its simply become a common thought process to consider recoil as a function of accuracy degradation in compromised field positions.

As well as increasing accuracy potential in compromised field positions simply due to less recoil in a lightweight hunting rifle.
