If getting beat like a heavy bag, then laying on your opponent was his fight plan, he excited it perfectly.


Moreno landed more significant punches from the fee. He landed more from the ground. Those are the fight stats. More punches and more damage. In my mind, that’s the winner. He pressed the fight and inflicted more damage. It’s indisputable. Numbers don’t lie.

I really wish control wasn’t a scoring criteria. Too many people do nothing from top control. No submissions, no hands yet still win the round.

Volk is doing what you should when in control. Pounding his opponent and getting damage.

Yes on everything you said. Volk is the greatest fighter in history.


Pantoja landed 11 punches from the ground. Volk landed 11 punches from the ground with the first 40 seconds of having his opponent on the ground. That’s ground control.

Moreno escaped every takedown. Because pantoja never threw a punch hardly. Take out the three elbows in the first round and all he landed the remaining 4 minutes he had Moreno on the ground throughout the fight was 8 rabbit punches. And not one submission attempt in any of those 4 minutes.

Anyways, Volk is so good.

He went up a weight class and gave the champ all he could handle in his last fight. Should be 2-0 IMO. The greatest probably not but he is dam good and fights anyone.

He’s won something like 22-23 in a row. At 170 pounds. Down to a 145 pounds. He beats anyone and everyone. I personally feel like 50% of the world in that he beat Islam. I don’t think it’s even debateable. Because he worked on the ground. And Islam didn’t.

Agreed, Volk is a monster. IMO he beat Islam, even though there was probably at leaast a 10 pound weight difference when they stepped into the cage. Tough to argue there has ever been a more dominant featherweight.

Feel bad for Moreno, such a class act and a good guy. Wish him the best going forward.

Nickal needs Covington or Usman next. That dude is the real deal. Even in the sub victories, his striking (his worst skill set) has looked crispy. Only welterweight I see beating him squarely right now is Shavkat.

Why would he need to fight a bunch of 170 pounders? Bo Nickal is a middleweight.

Nickal is a great recruit. The hype is real. But, while he’s knocked 2 of the 5 fighters he’s fought out in his mma career, he’s got to get more fluid on his striking or someone is going to get him. And, that’s probably what would happen if he’s gets into the top 5 before he improves.

As it is now, if he gets his hands on them, it’s over. But, he holds his head high and doesn’t bring back high when he’s throwing.

Give him another couple fights and a years more training, and he’s going to be the favorite in any fight.

Khamzat and Bo are on a collision course. If Izzy beats Dricius, which I hope he doesn’t after last nights showcase, khamzat will beat him. Then him and Bo will likely face off. Three more fights for Bo and, we will likely be watching those two for the middleweight title. As strong as the middleweight division is, those two are the future.

Brain fart city, good catch! For some reason I keep thinking he's a welterweight. Vettori maybe a good matchup.

Also, evidently Hooker's radius was fractured for the entire 3rd round? What an absolute maniac. The exact opposite of NBA players faking minor injuries for free throws...

I can see the comparison, but Till's demise was largely rooted in substance abuse. Nickal is a pretty abstemious dude from what I hear. I bet he doesn't flame out like Till

Tills problem was and will always be a huge lack of discipline. Bo is likely one of the most disciplined men in the sport and it'll show through his development, he's got a ways to go and he's on the right path. It's a process to get to the top and he's been through a similar process in wrestling and I'm confident that he understands that there's levels to it and he needs to stay in his lane along the way.
