Jon Jones, the G.O.A.T., is making his return tonight. After 3 years absence. It’s a great card. Bo Nickal, which may end up with that title is on the card too.

Any UFC fans out there. What’s your prediction on Jones versus Cane.

I am a Jones fan. Near certain he will win. This match is a poor consolation prize for the ngannou fight that should have happened.

Even though I think Jones will win, my biggest concern is the memory of the ovince St preaux fight where Jones bulkEd up back in 2016. That fight was a sleeper. Jones just wasn’t moving the way he did in previous bouts. I want to see The wild man John Jones that was throwing flying knees at legends like shogun, not a heavier, slower version of what he used to be.

I’m a Jones fan as well. And, I agree on your thoughts concerning how he will perform. One thing is for certain, Cane will be stronger and faster. Plus, more mobile. Which makes the outcome to me more uncertain. Time will tell

The first fight on the prelims that just ended was a good one.

Gane sure don't look scared.

And Jones looks fat. He says he is in the best shape of his life. IDK.

As great as JJ is, ring rust is real. 3 years is such a long time and one punch by Gane and it's night night for JJ.

My money is on Gane simply due to JJ being out for 3 years and Gane's punching power.

Eddie

He’s certainly not as lean as cane.

I don’t know. Jones probably used to walk around at 230 when a light heavy weight. I don’t know how much stronger he could be with that being the case. He weighed in at 247. Cane was right there too. Canes going to enter the octagon around 250-255 lean. Jones is going to come in around 250 without definition.

I think Jones gets the win. I want to see Nickal succeed but, man, he’s got more hype than any fighter in recent memory. The bar/expectations couldn’t be higher. Hope that doesn’t work against him.

Yep. But, unlike a lot of other fighters, the hype seems to be real. Dang man he’s so quick and explosive. Longest fight of his professional career is 1:02. He’s a bad dude.

I love seeing American wrestlers doing well in mma. Seems like the good ones always do.

Gane is a big athletic guy, but certainly doesn't have the fight IQ Jon has. Although, if I was to ever bet against Jon in his career it'd be tonight. Not necessarily because I think Gane is that good, but because I think Jon is a bit past his prime, and jumping to heavyweight he may of seen as easier than fighting in the 205 division. Especially now with Ngannou gone. Stipe is a great, but I don't think he's a scary match up like Ngannou. And many may see Stipe as past his prime as well. After that fight with Reyes 205 would look a little rough with guys like Prochazka, Blachowicz, Ankalaev and Hill coming up.

That one dude in Heavy weight in pretty scary
though, I forget his name. Sergei Pavoloch or something like that. If Jon happens to get through a couple fights at HW he will wanna bow out before that one.

The breakdown and analysis Jones did in the press conference and the way he picked apart Gane’s strengths and weaknesses is what sold me on Jones getting the win. The guy is smart and he’s just a savage. I’m not a fan, but you can’t help but respect the guy’s ability and fight IQ

Pavoloch will beat whoever wins this one is my guess. He’s every bit as atheistic as any heavyweight ever. Lightning quick and a beast on the ground. He’s an animal.

He really is man. I really wanted to see him, and the Predator. I guess he isn't like a super huge guy, but like you were saying he is smart, fast, and when you look in his eyes he looks like a serial killer. No fear whatsoever.

I could care less about JJ. Whatever he wins will just go up his nose anyways. Had the world at his feet and just threw it all away. History says you are what you are. It is completely possible to be two things at once. A fantastic fighter, and a terrible person. He's the embodiment of that.

I wouldn't want him as a son in law. On my side in a bar fight, I'll take Jon everytime.

Will be interesting to see how well Jones carries that extra 40 pounds in the cage, and if there's any rust.

He’s the perfect size for heavyweight. He’s naturally bigger frame wise through his waist. His core strength is off the planet. Which means he hits like a horse kick. He’s so confident no one can match his strength and speed. And, he’s right in my opinion.

He comes in knowing unless he gets caught unexpectedly, he’s going to win. And, he isn’t afraid of losing.

In my opinion, greatest all around combat athlete of all time. By far my favorite athlete in any sport to watch and no one else comes close. Absolutely not who I’d recommend as a role model however.

As far as tonight’s fight, I think this is a bad matchup for Gane. Wrestling is certainly a weakness for him and Jones may be the best MMA grappler ever.

Only X factor I see is if Jones still has the movement that made him so incredible. I keep hearing about his new physique but it looks to me he has the same muscle mass he’s always had then just ate whatever he wanted.
