Hey guys, just ordered me a tyto. For the past few years I’ve been using havalon, and my only complaint was I wish they made a fixed blade. After they come out with they’re fixed blade I wasnt to happy with the design. So I stumbled upon the tyto knive which is exactly what I was looking for. Finally broke down and ordered me one yesterday. I have a bunch of havalon blades and was hoping if you guys that have used both knives would know if the havalon blades will work on the tyto. Any help would be much appreciated!

Depends on the blade and manufacture of the blade. Are they 60’s, 60a’s, 60xt’s, 22’s or 22xt’s. Sure you might get them to fit if you use pliers to put the on or take them off. If you are trying to do it by hand, then they may not fit depends on the blades.

Do you guys recommend having it wrapped with paracord or bare metal? I’m leaning towards bare but was wondering if it gets slippery when it gets bloody

I used mine bare. Far easier to clean up that way.

I've used wrapped and I've used bare. Wrapped looks neat, holds a little more secure, but the blood and gunk in the paracord was annoying. Won't wrap it again. And it still provides a solid grip even without any wrap.

I will say this I have a bunch of havalon blades that I have used on mine, and they don't fit the best, they are loose and I have had a few pull off while I am working on an animal. I would use the blades that you might have left from havalon but when rebuying get the blades that are made to fit that knife
