Was invited on a trip down to Sonora last week and took a Goulds with the bow. Fun trip!

That’s awesome. Not your classic Turkey scenery there!!

Seems like I am the only guy in Colorado who hasnt gotten a bird yet this season! I saw some hens last weekend, but I was in a very popular area for trail riding and didn't realize it, as it was snowy on saturday and only a few people were out. I figured it out fast sunday when droves of dirtbikes and atvs were around. Probably a lot of birds there, but I don't know if you could ever get them to talk.

North Florida. Really hoping I can go out west next season for a Merriam still undecided on state would love to go to Washington state but will have to fly it's a long drive from FL. Also unsure on public or outfitter you western guys have any advice? Thanks

Gave this jake a ride home this morning. Grew up in southern IN where the birds were plentiful. Now live in the north half, not so many birds around. Shot a bearded hen last year.

A lot of great success photos, congrats to all, especially the kids.
I spent several 10 plus mile days postholing and slipping around in the snow and mud looking for this guy. It's highly addictive chasing these weird birds.

I called this gobbler in for my son here in Arizona yesterday morning. One arrow later, he had his first Turkey!

Got a mountain bird here in Colorado. Hiked up a thousand feet from the truck only to get completely cliffed out. I had to back down and reassess with OnX. I found a saddle that looked doable so went up that. About 500-600 feet elevation straight up from the truck, it opened up into really nice parks and meadows. It was late morning at this point, so I sat down to eat a snack and drink some water. I let out a few yelps before moving on, and got a gobble. Slid down a bit to get closer and in a good position, but stayed above him. I sat up under a little juniper, called again and he gobbled about half as close and coming. About 30 seconds later I see his head pop up and he commits on up towards me, I shot him at 25 yards

Matthew and Curtis, along with the family, showed up yesterday. Curtis has a foot giving him trouble so he elected to stay in their Airbnb this morning while Matthew and his 5 year old went hunting with me. We found this bird around 9:30 and killed him around 10:30, calling him off of private and onto national forest 75 yards or so.

The kid sat beside me 20 yards behind his dad while we work the bird. Once in the right location it didn't take too long and we are pretty sure it would have went quicker if not for a coyote that got close.

The gobbler had went quiet for a couple minutes or so and had been 75 yards last time he gobbled. I'm assuming he was at the fence then and went quiet after crossing. He was going to pop up fairly close so I yelped hard to get a response and he fired back from 50 yards and out of site then I yelped again and he gobbled from 35 yards and Matthew could see him. I never did see the bird but Matthew killed him at 31 yards.

During both of the close gobbles I was looking right at the kid beside me and his eyes got huge while he whispered (as quiet as a 5 year old normally does) " He's really close.". We got lucky on the setup since the gobbler was not able to get to a point where he could see us without getting shot.

It was a fun hunt
