Tundra Traction Control

I have had this question for a while and never thought to ask it here until reading the recent Tundra thread. I have a 2014 TSS 4WD with the 5.7. I cannot figure out how to turn off the traction control completely. Owners manual says the system can be activated by two of the following procedures:
Press the VSC off button briefly or;
stop the vehicle and press the VSC off button for 3 seconds

For me, holding the button down does nothing different than briefly pressing it. Whether I have the traction control on or off I will still lose power as soon as my wheels spin. It doesn't matter if I am in 2wd or 4wd, although 4LO works better I still lose power. I have gotten stuck in some embarrassingly small mudholes because as soon as I hit mud I loose all power and sink.

Is there anyway to completely turn off the traction control and always keep 100% power to all of my wheels?

I had a 14. It was push the traction control button and hold it down.

FYI, turn it off when in 4 high. 4 low automatically turns it off. But if you don’t have it off on 4 high and loosing traction a lot in mud at high rpm’s you will lose a gear. Ask me how I know. Lolol

Well, don't know how I missed this thread during my search. My bad.

Thank you all for the tips. I will try them out. Thinking maybe I wasn't in park when pushing the buttons.
