Picked a fine with the weather moving in...good luck with that. Sounds chilly. I envy you for the opportunity to hunt wolves. That's on my To Do list.

Cut the handle off the thermal bag and stretched the sun shade out, perfect fit under the nemo. (my nemo is not insulated so I'm trying to overcome with a few ounces of thermal gear)

Yes I figured this cold front coming in is perfect to test instead of finding out too late next week on the mountain.

I'm going to wear a pair of merino boxer briefs, full set of synthetic long underwear, merino sox, thin cotton gloves, a synthetic head and neck balaclava,
and a kryptex beanie with merino lining.

I have all of my thermal blankets and dollar store gear under my pad unless someone knows better ?
This is just what I'm doing from some conduction research.

It will be interesting to see how all that stuff works to keep you warm from the bottom. I have never tried anything like that so I can't help you with how to set it up. Good luck tonight!

well..... at least your ambitious..... looks like a extremely minimal shelter for winter conditions.... 16 plus windchill = one long nite im guessing. curious how this pans out.........

Yes I agree the poncho tarp isn't Ideal right now but I really want to put the test to the other components of the system with a floorless method. More than likely I will end up taking my fly creek UL2 up on the mountain next week. I have the opening towards the front door of my house this evening hoping the wind takes it's usual avenue from the other side. A little may bounce off the house, but,, hopefully the epiphany shines through the trial.

Man...I was testing a custom Doobie Underquilt and Kifaru Woobie in my hammock last weekend in mid 30 degree weather...I feel like a pussy now. Hope you're able to get some sleep in that thong of a sleep system.

That makes my back hurt just looking at it.

What is all that green stuff pussy?

It's called lawn...something the inner city people will eat when the grocery stores are filled with broken glass and empty shelves.
Hammocks are actually quite comfortable.
