anyone done it? my topper has racks and bars but cant seem to find a weight rating for the top of camper shell.
probably be myself mostly with 1 other person every once in a while.

Quick goggle search says 100-200 dynamic load while moving . Static load from 500 -1000. Un-reinforced fiberglass topper. The issue I see is if the load is set at the racks mounting points. It concentrates the weight at those points?

My shell came with factory rails and cross bars so should be fine if it was designed that way

Call the manufacturer and see what the weight rating is on the bars. I'll bet it won't be as high as you think. They are not designed to carry heavy loads just luggage or a couple 2x4's. Not like a regular truck rack. Better safe than sorry . The rack in the picture is only rated for 600 lbs, but the tent is only on half the rack? Nice looking rig though.

I was told no by ARE and Leer when purchasing my newest truck. They both make reinforced models for that reason. Rating system is weird as it jumps up too 500+ lbs based on what they told me. Could be salesman talk but I decided to listen. I guess.
