Stop letting tire shops rip you off. $370/tire shipped. It should cost less than $150 to have installed.
Also I see you are in Missoula. Try TIreRama. I bet they are closer to $400/tire all in. That's where I got mine. Closer to $1300 installed a few months ago. But I have a Tremor with 18s. The 285/75r18s are currently only $304 each on Simple Tire.
Les Schwab is ALWAYS overpriced from what I see. Also, if you want to see how they are wearing in person, PM me.

The quote he got isnt ripping anyone off...its a bit higher than average, but thats retail business operation and capitalism at work....no one holding a gun your head saying you gotta buy tires there.
That online price you listed is notably cheaper than I can buy them from any distributor around here...if they can make money selling them at that price with shipping that just tells you how much mark up is really there before they ever make it to the installer.
Id be curious to see what it costs to send one back to them defective if you had an issue. I'd bet the shipping would be ridiculous abd not covered to send it back...maybe not

. We get defective tires from all manufacturers here and there...distributor just brings new one, picks them up and issues credit.
You'll always find better prices carry out online...
You won't get much of a deal bringing them into alot of shops for install though if they are worth their salt and know it.
We charge extra on labor for any customer supplied parts/tires they want installed. Some complain and say its gouging....I say why would I do the amount of same work, covering the same overhead to make less money not selling the parts just because you found a deal online somewhere ?...go buy a tire machine, balancer, tools and learn to do it yourself in the driveway...most don't complain or just go elsewhere after that, either is fine by me.
I've never dealt with Les Schwab, but Im sure they are a typical chain store and will be higher on most stuff most of the time short of special sales.
Part of the difference there vs indy shop is they have a bunch of non contributing suites/management staff to feed up top in addition to front line employees/overhead that every shop has...welcome to corporate business structure. They will charge whatever the market will bare...if they are still in business, I guess its still working for the guys up top.
If you got a tire install connection, you'll always be money ahead buying online. Most of the general public doesn't thats why those places can charge what they do and stay alive.
