I guess I shouldn't be surprised with how crazy prices have gotten on things the last few years, but I am probably needing new tires before hunting season. My current tires are 275/60/20 BFG AT2. Purchased from Discount tire back in 2023 and a total out the door cost of around $1150.

This time I was thinking I would maybe move up to 275/65/20s - just a bit taller tire and since they are now the new option - look at the BFG AT3. Was looking last night and they are around $430 a tire!!!! That going to be around $1800 mounted and ready to go!!

Crazy tire prices have gone up as much as they have over the last couple of years....

I was just looking at the invoice for my tires from Discount in Boise. Bought in 2022 Mickey Thompson Baja Boss 285/75/16/ otd 1357.00. Priced today at $1452 otd. That's not a terrible increase over 3 years. Those 20" tires are expensive!

I see the same thing. A Les Schwab quote jumped $600. What the hell…

I recently purchased a new set of BFG KO2s for my F150. Discount wanted $600/tire. Found another shop locally that would do $525/tire.

Wasn’t a fun purchase at all.

Are these end loader tires? 😆

I just bought 265/70/17 for my ranger, all 4 installed for $820
Falken Rubitreks
I spent a few days researching for a good tire at a reasonable price

As expensive as they are (and going up as we speak) Costco has been the most reasonable place for me over time if you can time their sales. The free rotation and balance is a decent perk.

Yup, I got hit with the sticker shock as well on new tires. And if you want anything above a standard factory size then it's considerably more.

I also took a sticker shock on a new battery last week.

Discount/Americas should price match anywhere.
If you get the credit card it’s usually 5% off plus 6 months same as cash
The offer 5% for military/vets

Costco includes installation. So if available having discount match a Costco price may be you best bet

They used to have good sales on major holidays but that seems to have dried up

I jsut put tires on mine this past Sept.
Mine are 35x12.50-20.
I put on Yokohoma Geolander A/T XD.
Mine was $1450.
So far I am really impressed with them. They are 22/32 deep new. Mine with 15,000 miles on them are at 17/32 at my last rotation. So they are wearing very well.

Tires have gotten more expensive for a multitude of reasons. One part of it most folks don't realize is that the race to the bottom price wise that was going on with alot of chain stores, where they sold tires for next to nothing profit wise figuring they'd make it up in volume, killed their workforce...this is going back about 10 years or so.
It was hard to find even low-level tire techs for reasonable pay then...now...forget about it.
Their payroll has gone up, their staffing is down, and anyone worth their salt isn't dealing with the "work the cheap guys 7 days a week 12 hrs a day and just make up the low profit in volume"...
The cheap guys cost alot more now, and the good guys got tired of being used and abused and bailed or put their foot down...so alot of places decided that they instead needed to actually make decent profit on tires to offset increased payroll expenses and reduced staffing.
Buckle up, they aren't getting cheaper any time soon.

I'm going to replace my truck in the next couple years but it needed tires so I bought these for $700 OTD and I'm pretty happy after 2 months. Not quite as good as my Ridge Grapplers, but less than half the price.

"Gladiator X tires" at Walmart if the link doesn't work.

I put those on my F350 in December in 285/75R18. Fricking love them in every single condition so far here in Montana. Price was great also.

I’m probably going to looking for a lightly used set on the classifieds for my next set of tires after seeing what’s being charged in the tire shops. Baffles me to see guys with the lifted trucks with 37inch tires on there, it must have cost 2-4 grand at least to do all that work.

Takeoff tires on Facebook can be a deal. Other than that new ones are expensive. I paid $1800 to replace the set on my truck recently at Costco. Another tire dealer quoted $3k!!!
