TRT

I pay $75 monthly to "retain" my HRT Doc. He's VERY thorough and solid. Can use him on occasion as Primary care. Will generally write me for simple scripts when normal things pop up.

I have switched to Cream. A 3 month supply is $155.

Yes. Complain. If they give you no Service, switch pharmacies.

The dinky 1ml vials waste so much. Get one bomber 10ml
so the vials are multi dose? meaning you can draw the medicine from the vial more than once without contamination? (using a new needle each time of course I would assume)....I'm totally new to this and have never self administered anything with a needle.

So my pharmacy only gives me individual vials and not bigger vials. Does anyone see a benefit or drawback to one or the other?
Yeah, that sucks. They are milking your insurance for more money and like mentioned above, it's a lot of waste. So much easier and cheaper per mL to get the big vials.

ok, another stupid question....I went on GoodRx to just see what the prices are...I see there are options for different vial sizes, etc....so let's say I get a 10ml bottle of 200mg/ml....like how long is that gonna last me?
It totally depends on how much the doc wants you to take to get to your optimal number. For example, it could be 3ml twice/week, or 5ml once a week, etc, etc.

I do 2 injections of .25ml/week using 1 ml vials. You just have to clean the top of the vials each time with alcohol before drawing with a new needle. I've never had a problem. Use an 18ga to draw and something smaller to inject. I use a 25ga. A 27ga will work but it's harder to inject. Mine is in grape seed oil so it's little thick. One trick is to cough at the same time you stab yourself. You won't even feel it. After a while, you don't even care. One other tip, don't inject in your quads. It's painful and really easy to hit a nerve. I hit a nerve my second month. It hurt like hell at first, then went numb. I had a section of my leg the size of my hand that was numb for about 6 months.

I was a DIE HARD needle freak. Terrified. Got over it. Eventually made it a Jocko "GOOD" challenge.

Never quite built up to using an 18g for injections, but passed 22 gauge just to see if I could handle it myself.

I hit nerves ALL THE TIME. I generally did hip flexor. About where the tip of an EDC knife would cover in your pocket.

Sometimes good....sometimes maybe schitt....

Use your "blunt" 18g to draw. Dispose. Swap needles to whatever you're comfortable with for injections.

I never went smaller than 25g. They work just fine IMO.

Yes alcohol the draw site on the vial well. Clean yourself well. Rock on

Use a 27g or 29g insulin syringe. It may take a few more seconds, but way worth it. Less damage less scare tissue buildup, less pain, less fright. Draw it up and inject into the delt. Simple, quick, painless.

so you draw from the vial wit the 27g needle? I've read conflicting things about this...like draw with an 18 gauge and then replace the needle on the syringe barrel, and inject with the 27?

Been on TRT for just shy of year now. 51yrs old. about 6'1" 195 and 15% body fat. Mine was boarder line low when started. 2x a week/50mg test cy. Noticed a strength increase after about 6 months. Body composition really didn't change much. Lift 4x week/run once or twice a week. Feeling good. Feeling great for the most part. Actually, doing some blood work next week. Last I checked my trough (right before next shot) test was at 800. So far so good.

I do draw with 27 ga. Takes a bit longer for sure. I get them off Amazon. Cheap and are much easier to inject with vs the 23ga the Dr gave me!!
