TRT

Anyone here from Oregon done this and have a good recommendation for a doctor?

I've been on it for five years or so, same symptoms you described. I inject intramuscularly twice a week and it's been a major improvement across the board with minimal side effects.

I was already going bald, so no problem there. My balls have shrunk but whatever. I have to donate double red blood cells three or four times a year to keep my blood viscosity down. I have to pay out of pocket because Veterans Affair's cutoff is 250ng/dl and I tested at 279 at 26 years old, no insurance through employer.

Overall, noticeable improvements across the board as I said earlier. More energy, better sex drive, improved mood, excess stubborn body fat reduced, better sleep. Worth it to me.

(I don't usually condone bending the rules, but if you DO want to get on trt and have concerns about your next blood test not making the threshold for insurance purposes, eat McDonald's and stay up super late the night before and it should artificially lower your test levels since diet and sleep are major factors when it comes to optimal hormone production/regulation. Good luck.)
Looks like eating a good diet, getting enough sleep might be a good plan for life.

Interesting stuff.
Be 70 next year and all natural total t last blood test was 901.
You're lucky. I'm 40 and my total testosterone was 383. Was a former state powerlifting champion, played college football. So I was always training and eating healthy. And I've continued to train and watch my diet. But my energy levels tanked, and my joints were always aching when I got into my late 30's. So I got on testosterone a couple months ago. It has made a world of difference for the better in how I feel physically and mentally.

I've been on pellets, injections and soon to try compounded cream.

Do your research and be picky about who you see. Several years into it, I realized my PCP doesn't really know much about it and my experience was often less than optimal as a result.

I'm seeing a wellness doctor now who specializes in this. The bloodwork she ordered is extensive compared to my PCP.

I'd be happy to answer any questions based on my experiences if someone is interested.

I chose to do the pellets because I only have to go in every 6 months. A friend of mine tried the cream after he did the pellets, and he said he preferred the pellets. The downside to the pellets is they are expensive.

That was my original thoughts as well. They quoted me six months, but that worked its way down to around three.

If you're very active you'll burn through them pretty quickly I found. My last straw with pellets was when I had one fail (I'm not sure if it was ejected after the procedure or what) and I had a pretty negative three months until the next visit.

Other than that, I had a mostly positive experience with them. I did definitely notice the gradual decline towards the end near the next visit.

As far as the cream goes, I think there's sometimes confusion between the different types. Dr. Jordan Grant has a bunch of good interviews on youtube where he describes the benefits of the compounded cream and his own personal experience switching. My doc said she's only got two or three patients still on injections at this point. Most have switched to the compounded cream and stayed with it.

I hit 47 and fell flat on my face. I had massive joint pain in everything. I suddenly started gaining weight and my emotions began to change. I currently wonder if I will continue to hunt next year if my trend stays the course.

I have thyroid problems in my family and haven't had a primary dr for 30 years....but it's time I find out if this is chemistry or I just turned into a giant pussy over night.

The Dr told me they probably wouldn't last the full 6 months since I workout a lot, but I figured it would last more than 3 months. Thank you for the info. I might go a different direction, because I don't want to spend $700 every 3 months. I'll ask her about the cream the next time I'm there.

Go get your bloodwork done. That sounds like how I felt before I got on testosterone. I had terrible joint pain, always tired, and I started getting really moody. And I'm a really laid back and easy going person.

I'm 51 and for the last two years I've just been really depressed and have no ambition to do anything. I had my Testosterone checked twice in January. It was 320, then 262. I contacted the online clinic Henry's meds. They had me get blood work and started me on 1mg/week. Initially I was injecting once a week IM. After 3 months my total T was 620. I felt better but not great. They just increased my dose to 1.75mg/week. I decided to only do 1.2 and to inject twice a week instead. I just started that Monday, so I'll stay on that for another couple months then see where my levels are. So far, it's been mostly positive. I have more energy, more desire to do things I love, I work out 6 days a week. So far I've lost 15lbs and I know I've gained muscle. I had shoulder surgery in February and It's almost back to normal. The only negative I had was a bad injection in my right quad. I hit a nerve, and I have a spot about 3x6 inches that is still a little numb after 3 months. I switched to my glutes and it's way better. No pain at all.

I cant speak to TRT. I am in my mid 30s and got my numbers checked. Horrible to say the least. I've went through Matrix Hormones and got on enclomiphene with HCG to protect my fertility. Two kids later and my numbers came back at 881 last week. Its relatively affordable and I dont feel awful physically and it really helped the mental side for me.

Injections are the way to go. Cheaper, easier and better results all around.

As far as blood panels.

Test panels
Prostate panels
Red blood cell count
Cholesterol
Liver
Prostate
Vitamin d

Those are the ones I am concerned with.

If your anywhere in the mid-valley area, Salem Naturopathic Clinic is great. I suggest getting full bloodwork panels at least yearly. I use the cream and the pharmacy has been great to work with as well. I put off doing TRT for a few years, so glad i’m on it now.
