Well. Sorry your pcp told you wrong. Ha.
The sub q data comes from a study of women transitioning to men. Fat acts as a reservoir for steroid hormones and is actually the perfect slow release system for depo hormone shots. Why all doctors haven’t switched over to sub q beats me, but most of the docs on the cutting edge do teach sub q.
I didn’t start this thread to argue with people, just to share my experience as I go through the process. I am super happy with my results and the process. Maybe you should start your own thread?

I didnt realize you were a urologist…Just giving some advice that’s beyond just patient experience.
I also posted showing you what you posted was wrong. That’s pretty important for people to know, right?
I’m not. But my wife and I both went to medical school. I have had this convo with many many urologist friends of mine.I didnt realize you were a urologist…
Is there a reason you don’t do Sub q injections more frequently? ForI use a urologist not a men’s clinic. They know what they are doing but don’t push it like a product. I do sub q injections weekly. I still go from about 1000 to about 400 in one week. You might not feel the difference, but the levels are wildly swinging none the less.
Yes, that is most certainly a thing. The raised BP is often from too many red blood cells. Commonly from an incorrect dosage or injection frequency. If you are injecting once a week, or once ever 2 weeks then it is much more common.Anyone get worse or new sleep apnea or elevated BP since starting TRT ?
That’s a good question. For me the weekly keeps me pretty stable. But if not I would do them more often. Sub q so easy.Is there a reason you don’t do Sub q injections more frequently? For
Me I notice as soon as I have a dip. I turn into a moody Bi***. So I do small injections every other day. I noticed Sub Q didn’t work for me, my absorption rate was terrible. So I do intramuscular. But everyone is different.
Here is an update. I am down 30lbs and am in way better shape and am feeling great. Sex with the wife is the best it has ever been. Still hitting the gym 5 - 6 days a week. I inject IM every 10 days. Sitting between 900-1000. Been the best decision I have ever made. I do zero cardio, but my endurance when hiking/hunting is crazy good.
This is very true. I started doing twice weekly and my numbers went up a just a bit and I didn't have any up or downs.Thats great news. It really can be such a game changer! Your injections are a bit spread out though. Grab some 1ml syringes with replaceable needles and some 27g 1/2" luerlocks.
Split your dose and take it 2x per week. Instead of IM, try a subcutaneous shot in your stomach like insulin. There's plenty of research showing it helps spread the release out and you get more out of the same dose. Bonus of it all is you're not building scar tissue in your muscles. That was the real turning point for me that made it sustainable.
The half life on test cyp is around 8.5 days. You're getting a peak a day after your injection and then riding that wave all the way down for a week. When you spread it out to twice a week the troughs are much lower and it keeps levels more stable. It's a healthier absorption rate.
Our levels are naturally the highest in the mornings but its a cycle until the next morning. The next morning you should be close to that same level. Our natural production doesn't dip weekly. The lower dips with twice a week shots keeps the levels more stable and that is healthier for you.

You can buy whatever syringes/needles you need off of Amazon.

I'm doing the same in a couple weeks, I hope someone answers with some good information! Those who have had blood panels done, what information did you or your Dr find useful?
I'm scheduled to see a dr for the first time next week. I haven't been to the dr on purpose in 20 years.
