I'm a 1911 guy and my EDC is a DW Guardian 9mm. My old eyes don't work as well as they used to. The plan is to get a gun with an optic. My current focus is on the TRP 4.25". I'd really like to have the flared magwell of the Classic but I've only seen it in .45. While I have nothing against .45 and I have a CCO in .45, I shoot the 9mm better. Getting older and weaker every year I think the difference in calibers will be exacerbated. If anyone has a 4.25" TRP in .45 I'd be interested in what you have to say about how they shoot. TIA.

I’ve been looking pretty closely at a DW TCP.
Might be one to consider in your search.

Commander length
Optic cut
Has magwell
9mm
Aluminum frame

Man, that is a great recommendation. Wasn't familiar with the TCP, but if you wanted a single-stack all-metal commander-length 1911 that's optic and light ready, that's a great one. Very good looking gun too.

OP, if you want a similar gun in double-stack, I have a DW DWX Compact, that I'm particularly happy with, with about 18,000 rounds on it now.

Dude Forms dang 1911 thread is going to be a financial problem for me.
My taste in handguns just got a lot more expensive lol.
The flip side is now that I’m shooting 10x the volume I was previous, I actually see the benefits to all the little things he recommended.

What's funny about that, is the amount of money he saves us by saving us years of chasing our tails and unknowingly buying sub-par $h*t. It's like a fast-forward button, skipping pain, frustration, and wasted time and money.
