Trophy walls with 8’ ceiling height

Hey all, I have a bunch of friends with 20’ ceilings in their 1 1/2 story and 12’ pours in the basement. I on the other hand have a more standard 8’ ceiling height and even shorter in the basement. I would love to see you all post up some photos of your trophy wall if you have a more standard ceiling height to see how this would look. Right now mainly have whitetail and turkey but will soon be adding other critters.

My solution to this issue has been to limit myself in the size of critters I shoot. That way when you're hunting buddies come over your have a excuse for your mediocre trophy display, and you're spouse is happy that giant antlers aren't dominating the room! (This is coming from a guy that has yet to find the patience to get large trophies).

You might to think about pedestal mounts. That looks really good with 8" ceilings.

I have stuck to euro mounts.

Euro mounts for me. Quickly realized it takes too much wall space, also I share space with someone who is constantly redecorating.

Euros are a lot easier to move around.

First you get your trophy then you put it up. Big spacious raised ceilings are nice but you gotta use what you have.

My wife is telling me to hang my Muley from last year. It's a bunch more impressive than the pile of WT antlers in the barn... Pretty neat that she's interested in having em on the wall actually. I'm not big on stuff on the walls...

I have one shoulder mounted whitetail. Had been in my work office for the last several years, but when I changed jobs took it home and he's hanging next to the fireplace. Otherwise I have stuck with euro mounts. I have 3 pronghorn, 1 Coues, and 4 whitetail euro mounts, plus a moose skull plate in the house. A mule deer euro and a bunch of older whitetail and muley skull plates hanging around the garage. A total of 2 of those are mounted to the wall. The rest are resting on book shelves alone, or I make drift wood stands for them.

Following this thread intently. I have a euro elk mount that I have been sitting on because I can’t find the right spot for it. In my home the vaulted areas have funny stud placement that doesn’t center the mount very well. 8’ will probably be my best option.

Same as a few others ... here are some of mine and it’s 9 feet in some spots and drops to 8 feet in a couple of areas too. You can make it work!
