Trophy bull and a trespass charge

Another case of the landowner owning the game. I’d like to see where the carcass was found in relation to the private land.
If it was truly landlocked public land than accessing across private land without permission is criminal trespass and he should be held accountable.

So the ranch is managing the elk on public land as theirs.
Sure is worded that way:
"Handy said the ranch is highly selective about who it allows to hunt there. The ranch owner allows only a select few bull elk to be shot to preserve the herd’s genetics.

With the death of the bull that Monger allegedly shot, “that tag has been filled for this year,” so the opportunity has been taken away from hunters who have permission to cross ranch property, Handy said."

I agree, but right now it’s a he says/he says. That’s why I asked about where it was shot exactly, which we will probably never know.

Not sure if this is applicable here, but isn’t there a law requiring that the public has access to public land? So how does that work with public that is surrounded by private?

Is it illegal to use fixed wing or rotorcraft as transportation in WY? A quick google search turned up a law that's not really clear on transportation to and from a hunt. It says the same about automobiles, so I assume that law does not apply to transportation.

Pretty sure me and a friend can afford a 6 mile R44 flight. No trespass required.

I bet your YouTube influencer will see this and use a helicopter to get dropped off in there next year…. 😉
Haha beat me to it. Really short helicopter flights to get around the private land aren't very expensive.

Piss off enough people and they'll target the public land you think you own around your ranch on purpose.

Unless the hunter was really stupid and admitted to the trespass, is caught via cell phone triangulation, or is just an unlikeable person, I’d be curious to see how this played out in a trial. Where I come from, people seem to dislike large landowners a bit more than [local] trespassers.
