In light of recent posts that seem to be confusing folks, here is an example for your reference.

Thread OP-I like cheese,
responses-me too, this is my favorite, shares a recipe,
counterpoint-I don't like cheese, here's why
TROLLING-cheese sucks, anyone who likes it is weird, how could you eat cheese, cheese doesn't even exist. "Cheese lovers are akin to folks who perform heinous acts"

Much like Tikkas/Toyotas/TMKs on here, there is a lot of love. When someone gives a counterpoint, that's a discussion. When someone DERAILS the thread with incessant CHANGING of the topic, and can't let it go, this is against our rules, and moderation is needed. We are not getting involved with our opinion! We are simply staying within the confines of the site rules.

To take it even further, for those who still don't fully understand:

I like Tikkas,
me too!
tikkas suck
why do you say that?
they just do,
well I have 3 and they are great,
I hate them,

Their comes a point when the ORIGINAL post's scope of topic is derailed and it becomes trolling. This example was a fella who wanted to share his tikka love. It was not a question, a poll or an open invite for "talk me out of one".

A different example-

I'm unsure of Tikkas, what do you guys think?

Those who wish to take over and derail a thread are welcome to start their own thread. **However, if it is to directly mock, troll or bring drama from another thread-which we see often-it will not be allowed to stay.

Regardless of the topic, if you are being a jerk, disrespectful, and or just looking for a fight, maybe there is another forum better suited for you.

This is good info. Definitely been guilty of derailing...

I think if folks gave the video below a watch it would help put things into perspective as well (strong language warning).

While this video is "crude" and is designed as a comedy piece, it does a good job of shedding light on "intentions" with written words over spoken words, and how they can be "interpreted" versus how they were "meant".

We live in the unfortunate world of the internet where there is always someone wanting to prove another person wrong. They can see a thread thats clearly not a question or discussion post but can't help themselves from trying to start a debate.

What it really looks like

"I like cheese, please share your recipes here so we can all try something new"

"Cheese sucks and will kill you and I wont let it go until I prove you all wrong. I cant help myself from clicking on this thread and replying how much I hate it and its bad."

Sincerely,

Keyboard Warrior

I love my Tikkas AND I eat a lot of cheese. Please don't ask me to choose...

@Nickofthewoods, I like Cheez Whiz. It makes some great mac and synthetic imitation cheese product. Nachos too when you add the canned Rotel diced tomatoes and green chilies for nacho sauce.

Is it permissible to start a cheese lovers thread? If not, that’s okay too

This post can probably replace 85% of our rules!!

My 2 cents on this post.

Tilkas are great. I have one chambered in .270. It’s extremely accurate and reliable.
