Tripod Overload Comparison

I know this is an old thread but posting this in case anyone comes across this post and is concerned about RRS tripods not being their advertised weight (you shouldn’t be).

I own 5 different RRS tripods and they’ve all been within grams of their advertised weight.

Looking at the pictures of the RRS tripod posted earlier, it’s actually a TFC-34L (not a TFC-24L) which explains the weight discrepancy. You can tell this based on the diameter of the legs where they connect to the tripod apex. My guess is since it was used it was listed online incorrectly when sold.
That could definitely be it. I don’t know RRS product lines well enough to tell the difference and there was no markings showing what model on the tripod. B&H could have had it marked incorrectly or just sent me the wrong one, they typically have several models on there used.
