Tripod Choice

Check out the INNOREL GT284C on Amazon. I really like it. I was using a small Sirui before I got this one. It’s always with me now.

Man, a 3 section that is just as stable as the 282? how?

I had to check and I actually only compared stiffness to the 282CMX so I will edit.
My "test" was a "calibrated flick" of the buttstock while videoing reticle wobble. Hardly scientific, but I got 7 MILs of wobble with the 282CMX and the same or less with the Tricer. Which was good enough for me to take the benefits of the Tricer and lose the 282cmx

I hated the 282 for how tall it is to carry around and am glad to be rid of it, extra stiff or not. I doubt there is a practical difference in stiffness to the 282.
All three tripods kind of suck for standing shooting in my opinion. I like them for standing glassing, seated shooting.

Also, the MA30L on my 282cmx went to shit from dust on my hunt this year. I just strapped it to my pack which was bungied to the ATV back rack so it was exposed to plenty of dust but I've never had similar issues with an anvil. I've also probably not exposed my anvil to as much dust..

No shocker to me that the ma30L might fail before an actual anvil. I was only speaking of the anvil head design being the best I have used for shooting

Agree. I have only used RRS TFCT 24L or the T3 Dauntless for "serious" standing shooting.

After using an anvil/Ma30L for a while, it's hard to live with others i've attempted to try..

Not all of them are reversed. I'm pretty sure fatboy tripods for one has the righty tighty orientation on their inverted tripods. Its much less of a problem when using a two section tripod vs 3+ locks per leg.

Nobody talks about it, but if someone uses an inverted-leg tripod, the twist locks are still right hand thread, so the lefty-loosey righty-tighty motion is the opposite direction from the user’s stand point.

I forgot to mention that the Tricer leg locks are NOT backwards like the leofotos. Tricer is righty-tighty from the user perspective, and that was another bow-on-top that made me sell the leofotos

This is why I was looking for something different. I'm extremely happy with my Two Vets I decided on after reviewing comments in my thread here.

I used the Fatboy tripod at the Bergara Mountain shooting course I took in Wyoming. It was a solid tripod, but it was EXTREMELY wide. There's no way that thing fits in the side sleeve of my Exo pack. This is why I was looking for something different. I'm extremely happy with my Two Vets I decided on after reviewing comments in my thread here.
