Sure. I find a bipod and a bag to be perfect. I screw it on, check eye relief, level reticle all on the bag. I have a grain elevator that I can level up against and then pull the bolt and look through the bore to look at a motor on the elevator.....move the reticle to the bore and it's typically very close.

That made my morning. I’d all but forgot a farm house we remodeled years and years ago. We were puzzled why east west walls were plumb, while north south walls had a pretty good lean - on the first couple of days we tried to brainstorm why - were two different levels used during framing? Did the framing lean before getting locked into place with diagonal bracing? Knowing farmers there was bound to be a practical reason for it.

On the third or fourth day I discovered a telephone pole with the exact same lean and it all made sense. Lol

Resting the butt on the corner of a counter top would help steady it up a lot. I can see it working ok, at least well enough to better than nothing for scope mounting.
