Trijicon Huron

So has anyone here had much luck dialing them or done any tracking tests? Looking at this scope closet gets my wheels turning. If the 3-12 had a zero stop exposed elevation turret it would be such a fantastic UL option. 17 oz! What else is in this weight class that I’m missing? Also has anyone had any luck getting Kenton to make a turret for this? Doesn’t show one on the website but curious if they could make one custom.

I have a trijicon accupower 4-16 but I think it’s the same turrets they are spring loaded rezero able have dialed it but no zero stop it has worked. But you do need to know or remember what you dialed up to dial back to zero.

As someone currently shopping for a scope in this range, I want to love this scope, but the eye relief seems to be too short for it to be as awesome as I would like. The plain jane Credo is listed as having much better eye relief. I don't need an illuminated reticle, though, but I prioritize the eye relief more.

Don't know how Trijicon measures eye relief. On their website they quote 2.5 in. - 3.7" for a 3x9 Huron. I was concerned about it at first, but when I received my 3x9 Huron, it has plenty, not an issue. By my estimates, more like 3.25 - 3.75". It has an elongated front objective which is more of an issue than the eye relief. Kind of limits mounting options. Didn't want to go with a rail, ended up going with medium Leupold Backcountry ring mounts for my Tikka T3x Lite .270. Great set up, fantastic scope, wish I had bought a couple more when they were cheap.

I’ve shot the Huron’s on my .308, .270 and 7mag Tikka’s in various stocks and a chassis and the eye relief was not an issue.

I've specifically talked to Trijicon about their eye relief. Their reply was that the eye relief will vary to the individual based on their eyesight and diopter adjustment. Some people may experience more relief; some may be less. I've had several 3-9 Hurons and accupoint 3-9 scopes. I don't really have any problems with the Huron 3-9. The Accupoint is definitely shorter at 9x for me than the Huron is. With a Huron on 9x, it's exactly 3" from the ocular to my brow bone., as set for my eyesight, so the actual eye relief is a bit more. The Accupoint that I had was just over 2.5" on 9x and it FELT really close.

There are lots of folks that run the 3-9 Accupoint on .338 and .375 rifles in Alaska with no issues. Granted, they're probably not doing much prone shooting with them, but they're not getting bit by the scope either.
