Trijicon Huron

I picked up a 3-9x40mm on sale for $299 eurooptic and put it on a new 6.5. Liked it so much I ordered a second one for a .243 I wanted to upgrade. For that price, I don't know that it can be beat. I shared everyone's concerns about eye relief before I ordered, but it's really a non-issue.

After seeing this thread dug up, curious how are all of you feeling about durability and return to zero? Any issues to speak of? Anyone done tracking test, or dropped it like it’s hot? This thing might be a huckleberry in hiding for lightweight rifles. The 3-12 looks even better with the 30 mm tube so I can switch from different rifles/rings. At this price I need to order one just as a backup scope.

Just to confirm the BDC reticle measurements (2.24/5/8.32 MOA) are at 9x full power correct? I couldnt confirm in any documentation.

I bought a cheap Marlin XS7 and just got a new Huron 3-9 since I had 1" rings already. For $299 it's a bargain for Japanese glass. Haven't tried the BDC but wouldn't have any reservations about dialing it either

Mounted one of the Hurons on the RSS tonight will be putting it through its paces soon. Side by side with my SWFA 3x9 not a whole lot of difference just initial comparisons(other than dramatically different reticle). The other one is going on my 6 arc mini action once the stock shows up. Gotta say for $299 if they dial/rtz like other Trijicons these are a steal.

Keep us updated!

How is the Huron in low light? I see they do not offer illumination.

Thanks!
I was messing around with one near the end of legal shooting hours in my state, last evening. The crosshairs are thin, but I had no trouble seeing them.

I know this thread is really old, but I picked a Huron 3-9 up last year and used it on my 35 Whelen for a bear hunt in Idaho and whitetail hunting in 3 states and it has been great. Stout recoil on the .35 wasn't an issue with the eye relief like some people have wondered. I can confirm it is incredibly durable, had my gun on a tripod in a box blind and the upswing glass window released and swung down and hit the edge of the scope and then my barrel. The window fell with enough force to chip the finish on the scope and take a chunk out of the cerakote on my barrel. I got out of the stand and went back up to the house to check my zero and it hadn't shifted a millimeter.

Since this thread got bumped I'll go ahead and post a testimonial to durability as well. I have a 3-9x40 on a muzzleloader and over the weekend hiking fast to beat a storm after dark my foot got hung up in a branch and I whipped to the ground, rifle was slung on my shoulder and slammed the barrel on a tree root with the force of probably a good baseball bat swing. Next morning I shot a cactus pad and hit exactly where I was aiming and I'm still amazed.

Last year during whitetail season I was walking on a wooden bridge we have over a swamp. I slipped on the bridge and caught myself with on the wood deck with the hand carrying my rifle with a 3x9 huron. The rifle hit flat with the bolt up with a good amount of body weight behind it. No zero shift at all from what I could tell. Made a believer out of me for sure.

Pretty sure it is the lightest scope to pass the full drop test here on RokSlide, and on the more affordable side too, still on sale on Euro Optic.
