On paper I believe the eye relief is less on the Huron. Not so then?

I have noticed no functional difference between the two when using these scopes on 223 & 6.5 Creedmoor

I have both scopes and here are what I see as the pros/cons:


Credo 3-9:
Pros:
-Mil based reticle (if that's what you are into)
-Has 0.5 mil hashes, this gives you more hold-over points and from 200-500, gives you a hold about every 50 yards
-Has illumination

Cons
-Reticle is finer and slightly harder to see in low light without illumination
-2oz heavier


Huron 3-9x40
Pros:
-Simpler reticle that works well for most cartridges in the 2700-2800 fps range using a 100 yrd zero for slower cartridges and 200 yrd zero for faster cartridges
-Reticle is slightly thicker
-Slightly lighter

Cons:
-No illumination
-Less hold-over points, one every 100 yards

Credo is available with several different reticles. Im not sure if Huron is. Which specific reticles are you referring to?

Wild guess would be Mil-square on the Credo and the BDC Hunter on the Huron

Just got a Huron for my old man's hunting rifle. He has never used anything except the unbranded scopes that come with factory rifles.
For a 1" tubed simple scope, $300 was a stellar price. These are nice.

Sorry I should have specified. I was referencing the Credo 3-9x40 with the MIL-square reticle and the Huron 3-9x40 with the BDC Hunter Holds reticle.

haven't shot it, but dang I love it so far. Very clean and like it in low light.

Apologies in advance for my stupid but there any reason the Huron 2.5-10x40 or 3-12x40 (both with 30mm tube) wouldn't be an upgrade for 2-2.5 extra ounces?

I'm curious about this as well. Anybody have any updated info? @Formidilosus, do you have any idea if the Huron line are all comparable? Thanks for your time.

Yep, if you never do anything except zero it, point and shoot at point blank range, mils vs moa is irrelevant.
