Which one would you choose for a close range deer rifle?

Huron all day long. It's just a better scope in all ways, IMO. With the #4 reticle for close work.

the one Huron I have looked through has nice glass, and there are enough negative reports of the SWFA UL that I would just get the Huron

What’s the criteria other than close deer gun?

If weight is high priority then the SWFA.

All my hunting rifles that matter wear Hurons now. Bees' knees of set and forget scopes so far IMO, and I've dragged them across half a dozen states from AK to FL.

I have a few Hurons now and they are pretty impressive for their price and have held up very well so far.

I agree…got a couple SWFA 2.5-10’s for sale as a result of this choice. I’m keeping a couple, but generally I’ll take the weight penalty for tgevTrinicon. I’ll also echo that I love the AccuPoint as well, and it’s lighter than the Huron.
