Trijicon For Muzzleloader

Hey guys put together a CVA scout smokeless muz. Mostly will be a whitetail gun for North Carolina. Shots 100 yds or so......but will take it to the Midwest when tags are acquired possibly mule deer hunt w it etc. Was looking a Trijicon credo 3-9x40 in mils. I know this would be sufficient. Been talking w someone about a 2.5x10x56 hx for a decent deal. I know its about 8 oz heavier. I'm not a box blind hunter so still looking for a mobile gun. Feel like the 2.5x 10 will def be better on low light. Would it be overkill for my purpose? Treating it as a 300 yd gun. All thoughts and opinions appreciated.

Not to thread jack, but I am interested in the model of CVA, original caliber and who converted your rifle to smokeless ml. I have been researching doing the same thing. What did you find was the "easy" route? Thanks, and yes I think the 56MM would be awesome, I was looking at the same to put on a slug gun lol Dont want something that kicks so much to be too light lol those cva are already light enough, good luck!

Bought a cva scout 45-70. Shipped the barrel to Jeff Hankins. He converted....got his break put on got him to swage the barrel with sizing die ramrod and primer modules I think it was around 800. I have not shot it yet but my friend built same gun last year and loves it......

My smokeless has a 2.5-15 credo. I think the 2.5-10 would be fine on a scout. When I had mine, it had a 4-16 viper hst on it.

Thanks a bunch! I will start seeing what I can find. I had found Hankins web site earlier, but didnt know who all did this. It is legal in Tennessee, as long as you still put the bullet down the barrel, just like on the firestick stuff traditions and cva put out.

I called and spoke w office lady once she emailed me a price sheet to check off and mail in w barrel.....then I spoke w Jeff once......I had it back within a week

I have the 2.5-10x56 and it's a lot of scope for the money. Very bright, light weight for 56mm, very good glass. I have the duplex with amber dot. Also has good eye relief. Most of the hunters here run that model or step up to more expensive setups. It was mounted on my Tikka until my son wanted it, then I upgraded to the SB Polar. You'll be happy with either, but if you can get a deal on the 56mm, get it. I got mine for $700 brand new no taxes or shipping.

My son has warne on his Rem 700, I have vortex precision on my tikka. I had the warnes on my tikka with the rail. Any good rings will be just fine.
