I'm putting together a .308 for my 13 year-old son's first elk hunt this fall, and am trying to decide which optic to put on it. While I like premium glass on my rifles, I have learned that teenage boys can do unexpectedly stupid and careless stuff that you just can't make up. For that reason I'm looking for a decent, but relatively inexpensive (up to $650) scope for the setup.

Right now I am leaning towards the Trijicon Credo 2.5-10x56or the Athlon Helos BTR Gen 2 2-12x42. This will be going on a suppressed Bergara B-14.

Any thoughts between these two options or other alternatives in the same price range?

Trijicon credo. The glass on the credo punches above its price point. I have a tenmile and think it is right up there with my NX8.

Credo or SWFA 3-15, the deals on the Trijicon Credo and Tenmile are unreal at EuroOptic! The hard part will be deciding on which one to buy!

Thanks. It looks like I can pick up the Credo in 4-16x50 for under $100 more. Any thoughts between the two?
My buddy has that 4-16 and seems to really like it. I would personally take the 4-16 mag range over 2.5-10 any day.

Just ordered one myself. Was going to get the 2.5-15x42 but the 4-16 for 600 bucks was hard to pass up. Hopefully it lives up to the hype.

I have owned Trijicon AccuPoints, AccuPowers and Credos. All have been fantastic. Great glass, tough as nail and all track/RTZ.

That credo, shows parallax adjustment in the add pics, the add description says it is fixed.
Anyone confirm which it is ?

The 2.5-10 picture isn't correct in the ad. You can see the mag ring goes to 15x. The Trijicon site shows it correctly as the illumination knob.
