Triggertech new Rough Diamond??

I just swapped out all my Bix n Andy’s for the rough diamonds. Wasn’t a fan of the complexity of the Bix. I doubt they fair any different than the other TT’s though.

BnA are complex for sure. I wish TT would design over travel into them so there is no wall immediately behind the break. The follow through of the squeeze is my favorite part of the BnA triggers.

I did like the follow through of the Bix, but it was the only thing I liked about them. So I gave it up to go back to more simple TT. But I know exactly what you’re talking about.

One i wish they would make a 2 stage left handed trigger

Two, I see no need to go with the rough diamond over the special. I looked at it today and you gain 8oz of trigger weight on the bottom end. I don't care for anything under 1lb so they didn't really appeal to me.

I was under the impression the only real difference between the TT models was pull weight. Does the rough diamond offer anything over the primary if both are set at 2.5ish lb?

I don’t believe so. Everything I looked into seemed more like marketing as far as being more “durable” with the release of the rough diamond.

I was just used to shooting the TT diamonds at around 12-14oz pull weight. So I just bought the rough diamonds to replace the Bix N Andy’s when I saw them come out because I didn’t need anything below 8oz

No bolt release?

I went with the TT Special over the Diamond for the price, bolt release and fact that I do not need a sub 1# trigger on a hunting rifle.

Triggertech creep chart. They do vary between models. They no longer have this chart on the website. I might infer that the Rough D might not be quite as good as the Diamond as far as creep goes. You may not be able to tell though.

Even looking at this, when they’re set at the same pull weight they look like they have the same creep. Definitely not seeing anything that would make me want to spend the extra money over the primary unless the new rough diamond really does have some substantial added reliability. Not that I’ve had any of my primaries fail on me

Reading between the lines a bit "Adjusting the engagement geometry" reminds a guy of AD/ND reports just from closing bolt or adjusting safety on Impacts in particular. So maybe they made some changes to address that and this is the result.

The Diamond on my Lone Peak hasn't had any issues but it hasn't seen much for inclement weather or round count either.

Following as I have a couple triggertechs in my seekins and this may be interesting depending on how testing goes. I haven't had issues either, but I do my best to keep them in optimal condition in the snow etc.

I wish they would have clarified a bit more what they did to make them with "enhanced durability and robustness"

I switched one of my guns to a bix last year and I do really enjoy that trigger. The over travel is a different feeling but once you get used to it, I can see the benefit. You are correct about the complication though. I was scared to adjust mine out of the box so I just left it set as is LOL. Not near as simple as the basic twist of an allen key that sets the TT's.
