Tricer tripods vs…..

No, based on a video I watched from him directly he mentioned “all our heads are arca compatible on the bottom”. I gave it a try and put the bottom circle part of the LP on my shooting arca tripod head. Worked well. It’s the best solution to compromise shooting and glassing I’ve found. My tripod has a center column though and weighs 1 pound more. Can shoot off it standing though. RRS knockoff.

Right! Me either. I’d go down and take a picture but I’m recovering from my knee surgery today and it’s a bad idea.

Initial impressions are great! The head is super ergonomic, like an integrated mini Anvil-30, except the ball that is inset into the apex is not mini, it’s substantial and holds very well.
The torsional stiffness is very good on the legs as well. I know what I’m taking sheep hunting this season.

I’ll report back on how it is in the field and for glassing. If it’s not great for scanning for long periods of time, I’ll just throw a little pant/tilt head with an arca on top of this.

I use dovetails/arca for everything and it isn't compatible after trying quick.

1.) It's not a dovetail, it's a circle. The diameter is close but it's not the intended usage.

2.) I could make it fit but then everything else would be loose

Agree it isn’t a perfect dovetail like normal arca but they advertise it as working and I haven’t had issues. I understand where you’re coming from though it isn’t perfect. I thought about running a file to flatten that whole edge to improve it a bit.

Yup. Just like that. It’s not perfect but the closest I’ve found for a semi light weight sturdy shooting setup that doesn’t inhibit good glassing too.
