So I bought this tripod and LP head to give it a try and all looks great.....except I can't get over the fact that it does not have a "safety" lock on it like the Sirui.
Over the years I have forgot to tighten my bino post or spotter onto my Sirui head and was saved from dropping the optic do to its push button safety.

I really like the Tricer and will head out to WY in a couple weeks to use it for the first time.

Does anyone share this thought process and have an idea create some kind of lock or catch??

Thanks.

I had the same concern. Switched from the VA-5 to the wiser precision night hawk which is basically the same as the LP. I had several occasions where the VA-5 safety catch saved me, but since switching I have never had an instance where I’ve dropped my spotter or binos. I think I was subconsciously relying on that safety!

For 40 years I’ve not needed a “safety” lock.
Thanks BBob. Makes perfect sense to me not to need one. Im guessing since I started with one my brain thinks it is necessary. As the goosano stated about, not having it just makes you pay more attention. Will just relearn my equipment in Wyoming next week.
